The moon shone in the sky, only accompanied by the stars. Lunalyn threw her head back and howled, her white fur shone in the moonlight. It had been a while since she had been able to shift and run. Luna took off, weaving through the trees, loving the summer wind flowing through her fur. After a couple of hours, the girl walked to her house in shorts and a sports bra, her platinum blonde hair brushed back into a ponytail. Her bright green eyes took in the kitchen as she came through the sliding glass door. Her father sat at the table, typing away on his laptop, he looked up at her.

"Hello, Spawn," he called her the nickname he made for her and her older sister.

"Hey, Dad. Where's Mom?" Both of Lunalyn's parents were mated werewolves, and had been mated since 18, they always knew each other's whereabouts. Luna walked to the fridge, grabbed a water bottle, and started chugging it. Summer, Luna's older sister, found her mate at 20, she's been mated to Nicholas for 3 years now. Luna on the other hand, had not found her mate yet, at age 21. Her mother told her not to worry, that her mate is out there somewhere and she is bound to find him when the time is right.

"It is a great night for a run. That's where your mother is. I ran earlier, had to get back to work." Luna laughed, her dad quirked an eyebrow, though without looking at her, she knew it was directed at her.

"Who would have thought a werewolf would be so concerned about work?" Luna snickered as she polished off the last of the water bottle.

"We have to work too, daughter." The blonde girl kissed her father goodnight, and climbed the stairs to her bedroom. She shut the door and took off her bra and threw on a large shirt. She plugged her phone into the charger, and turned on some music to fall asleep to. Luna stared at her ceiling, deep in thought. Luna could feel something was coming; something big was about to happen. Lunalyn couldn't quite put her finger on what exactly it was. All she knew was that her life was going to change soon. She didn't know if it was for better, or worse.

An alarm shattered the window of silence for Luna, and her green orbs snapped open. She groggily turned off the alarm, threw her hair into a ponytail, pulled on a sports bra and yoga pants, then trotted down the stairs. Jessica, her mother was in front of the stove, finishing up the blueberry and chocolate chip pancakes. Luna sat in her usual spot at the table, grabbed the pitcher of orange juice, and poured herself a glass. Her father nodded at her, and her mother's face lit up as she sat the plate of steaming pancakes onto the crowded table. Luna's mother had really gone all out this morning; she normally made breakfast, but this morning was extravagant.

"Go on and dig in!" Jessica clapped her hands as she piled some scrambled eggs onto her plate. Luna grabbed a few pancakes, some bacon, and toast. The family talked about what they were going to do for the day.

"Well, I'm training with Alec today, so that should be fun." Adam looked at his daughter over the newspaper he was reading. Jessica smiled at her daughter and continued eating her eggs.

"Which actually starts in 5 minutes." Luna realized as she jumped out of the chair, and grabbed her water bottle from the fridge.

"Love you both!" Luna yelled as she ran out the door and it shut behind her.

"Her mate is going to have to deal with her being late to everything." Adam said as he took a bite of toast. Jessica patted her lips with her napkin, which she placed on her empty plate.
