Desserts were put on the tables but Luna couldn't even focus. She knew the prince was flirting with her, and staring at her most of the time. It certainly was making her uncomfortable. Prince Connor was speaking to the other women at the table, but he got a lot of names and packs mixed up. Luna picked up her fork and jammed it into her chocolate cake.

The blonde did not want to be a queen. She was a warrior, she hardly wore dresses, had a mouth like a sailor, and was not wholly graceful in heels. Ren kept talking to Luna and she was grateful. Ren was polite to the prince, which Luna figured it was so she wouldn't stand out. The redhead was sly like a fox, Luna could take a page out of her book. Try to fly under the radar.

Moans came from the women around the table which made the prince's eyes flash and he smirked.

"I love the noises you make, ladies." Luna wanted to gag but the other women, with the exception of Ren's, eyes turned gold. Good Goddess, pull yourselves together, ladies. Luna thought as she finished her cake.

"Thanks for joining me for dinner, I'm looking forward to the ball and our dates over the next few days." The prince smiled at all the women but he winked at Luna. The green eyed girl did not suppress her groan. She was going to make it quite known to the prince she was not interested in him. The prince bid them a good night and walked out of the room.

"Luna, what in the fuck was all that?" Ren asked as the girls walked to meet Jen. The dark skinned girl threw her arms around the other girls.

"I heard some of that. Spill!" Jen exclaimed as Thomas came up behind them. Luna cast her eyes around and didn't miss the snarls the other hand picked gave her.

"Let's go to my room."

Ren plopped herself onto Luna's bed, staring up at the ceiling. Luna sat in a corner while Jen was gracefully stretched across the couch.

"He was staring at you like you were a piece of meat, Luna." Ren said with concern. They had all changed into their pajamas.

"Yeah, I can't believe the herb thing. I mean I can, but I have a feeling it's not just because, 'blood is hard to get out of the carpet.'" Jen mocked. Luna turned to look at her best friend.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, they televise the whole thing. Our packs can watch, but others have to pay big bucks to be able to watch the games." Ren sat up, propped on her elbows.

"This is ridiculous. How demeaning." Luna shook her head. Ren looked like she wanted to say something.

"It is... can I tell you guys something, and we can still be friends?" Ren whispered and both girls turned their attention to her.

"Of course girl! We love you no matter what!" Jen smiled, got off the couch, and put her arm around Ren.

"Well...I'm kind of... gay." Nobody said anything.

"Cool! I mean it doesn't change anything," Luna smiled and hugged the redhead. Jen smiled.

"So kind of as in bi or?"

"No, I'm a lesbian." Ren chewed on her lip. Both Luna and Jen smiled.

"We don't care. It's your life, as long as you're happy, we're happy." Ren had tears in her eyes as she smiled. Luna noticed she was glowing with happiness. It can be hard to not only be a female alpha but also gay in the werewolf community. The blonde knew she and Jen would be on Ren's side no matter what.

"Well, you don't have to worry about the prince being your mate then!" Jen whispered.

"Yeah, I'll tell them whenever I get my binder." Luna was happy but now she wouldn't have a friend at the prince's table. Ren helped her get through the questions and looks the prince gave her.
