(A/N: Only a few chapter away from the games! Who's ready?!)
Luna sat there and drank with Jasper. He made her laugh a few times, but for the most part he made her roll her eyes. He seemed like a genuine guy, and she felt herself starting to trust him more and more. Sure he made lame jokes and even some of his flirtations made her blush, but he didn't make her feel uncomfortable.
After they were there drinking back-to-back for about three hours, they stumbled out into the hallway and made their way to an empty music room. Luna jumped with joy and laughed boisterously when she crashed in Jasper. He caught and steadied her as she connected her phone to the bluetooth speaker. She and Jasper headbanged and he screamed along with some of the songs.
They would sing the same lyrics if it was one artist singing and even played certain rock duets so they could sing their respective parts. Luna was having the time of her life and she wasn't worried about the prince. She wasn't worried about Jagger. She wasn't worried about Jen, or where she was going to live, or the arena. For the first time in a while, she lived in the moment. They both danced and Luna started to move seductively, forgetting Jasper was even there.
The blonde smiled and suddenly a wind whipped past her, tossing her hair back and a crashing noise disturbed her groove. Luna looked over and noticed Jasper was pinned against the wall by an enraged Jagger.
"Why the hell were you watching her dance? Why are you both wasted out of your minds and alone?" He enunciated most words by shaking Jasper. The drunk werewolf looked like he was about to puke.
"Look, dude. I dunno what you're thinkin', but I don't wan' her. I mean she's fine an' all–" he was cut off by a growl that ripped out of Jagger's throat.
"All's I'm sayin' is we were just havin' a lil fun. Jus' gettin' to know each other. Ain't we, Princess?" He slurred. Jagger looked over at Luna who fell onto a table. The black haired werewolf sighed.
"You're a grown ass man, you can fuck off," Jagger dropped Jasper and he groaned when he hit the ground. The dark haired man picked up his sleeping mate and carried her to his room. He would let her sleep it off. Afterall, everyone's parents would be at dinner tonight and he knew his princess would be pissed if she was drunk at their family dinner later that night.
Jagger was attending a meeting that all the alpha's had to attend, if they weren't claiming their mate. Jagger wanted to go ahead and claim Luna, but seeing as it got everyone riled up when he tried, he didn't try again. He wasn't even trying the first time, he just cared for her and the thought of the prince getting his disgusting hands on her made Jagger want to break things.
The black haired werewolf was happy that she was with Jasper. He knew they were drunk and Luna didn't even think about her dance moves. Jasper knew that Luna was his, and most other males tried to steer clear... while they were in the castle anyway. He was sure it would be different in the arena. Luna made a noise and stirred, but remained unconscious. Jagger didn't know the blonde before the games, but he knew she wasn't someone who was an alcoholic, at least. She must be stressed.
At the third floor, Jagger paused and debated on taking her to his room. Before he could make a choice, Thomas was walking down the hallway.
"Miss Carter should be in her bedroom. Not yours." Thomas' voice didn't hide his disdain.
"Oh, but if the prince insisted on her coming to his room, then it would be no issue, correct?"
"That is correct, Mr. Bane. I'm royalty, and I also sign their paychecks." Jagger froze, slightly tightening his grip on his sleeping mate. Connor walked from the other end of the hallway, his hair still dripping from a shower he just had.
