Luna's Mating Games

Chapter 3

Luna groaned as a knock sounded at her door at 4AM sharp. "Miss Carter, it's time to start getting ready, and your coffee is here." Luna yawned as a maid walked in, carrying a large iced coffee from The Bean Machine.

    "Thank you, please don't forget Jen's, she's going to be crabby." The maid giggled and walked out, closing the door behind her. Luna still did feel intoxicated, she realized as she sipped her coffee. Luna took a shower and changed into a sweatsuit. She got barely an hour of sleep, and they weren't meeting everyone until 8PM for dinner, so she might as well fly comfortably. After Luna laced up her boots, she walked out, noticing her and Jen's bags had already been taken. The blonde knocked on Jen's door and it swung open, showing a happy, yet exhausted looking Jen.

    "Hey girl. Good morning. How was your night?"

    "Oh it was fantastic! We're going to make our declaration of mates before the games so we don't have to compete!" Jen said then winced, and put sunglasses on.

    "I'm still a little fucked up, let's go ahead and get in the car." Luna said, walking with Jen down the stairs. Alec greeted them at the bottom and grabbed Jen, kissing her glossy lips.

    "Good early morning my mate. I see you both already have your coffee." Alec smiled as he ushered both girls out the door.

    "You don't want to talk to me until I've had my coffee."

    "Believe me, you don't. I'm telling you this as her BFF." Luna said as she nodded and they both got into Alec's Lincoln and drove towards the airport.

    Alec flashed his ID to security and they allowed him to drive onto the private runway and park by the private jet of their pack. The stewardess greeted them smiling and the pilot hugged them. Luna, Jen, and Alec had known them their whole lives, Luna especially. The blonde was indeed all over the country, her dad showing her the political side of things. She wasn't going to just be some luna who sat around all day and never helped her alpha in matters; her father made sure of that. All three sat down in their seats and turned their phones on airplane mode.

    "So I know we all just had coffee, but we all need our beauty sleep. We're going to be on camera tonight y'all!" Jen clapped her hands as she pulled out her face mask. Luna reclined her chair back as the pilot was preparing for takeoff. All three got warm blankets from the stewardess and the lights were dimmed low. All the windows were shut and all three werewolves curled up and went to sleep.

    Luna was shaken awake by her best friend. She blinked open her emerald eyes and glanced out the open window. She saw that they had landed in Phoenix. The three werewolves clambered off the plane to stretch their legs. The two girls walked over to the smoke shack and each had a smoke. They looked over at the road and could see the heat waves wavering over the asphalt.

    "I couldn't imagine living in a desert. You know they have scorpions out here? How do you even kill those things?" Jen blew smoke out of her mouth as she placed her cigarette butt in an ashtray. Luna also put hers out and they walked back into the airport. Alec waved down the two girls as he had placed their drink orders and an appetizer. The crew was laughing and cheersing, Jen and Alec eventually started making out so Luna stuffed her face with food.

She and Jen were ready to drop their stuff off and hit the strip. Last time Luna came to Las Vegas it was with her dad and it was strictly business. Boring. Luna and Jen had decided not this time. Though Luna wasn't necessarily excited for a mate, she would make the best of what she could. The three friends walked back to the private entrance to the private planes. They all boarded and were excited they only had two hours before they were to land. The two girls decided to watch a comedy to help them pass the time. Just as the movie was finishing, they were commanded to put their seat belts back on for landing.
