GIA POV
"Gia I'm sorry that happened. I didn't mean what I did" Bria said. She seemed sorry for hurting me over nothing. "Look I didn't know the reason Thomas was touching you was because you almost fell".
"You could've asked" I said.
"Gia come on I'm sorry! I just snapped when I saw the boy I liked touching you" Bria said.
"Sure" I said.
"Gia I'm not your mother. I don't get joy out of hurting others. It was just a mistake that's all. I'm sorry and I will never put my hands on you again" she said.
I nodded "fine".
She smiled "now let's go have fun".
How could I have fun when my friend put her hands on me? She's acting like nothing happened. I couldn't wait to go back home. And yes, I said home...
Two days later I was back home. Bria dropped me off "remember I didn't mean it".
I nodded and waved.
Opening the door my mother stood there with a wooden spoon "well well well look what the bitch dragged in".
She swung the spoon hitting me in the shoulder "you bitch! You don't deserve someone like Bria as a friend. She's better than you in all areas".
Let's just say she beat me with the spoon until it snapped. By that time she was tired and I was on the floor bleeding. When will it stop.
Going upstairs I went to clean myself. There was blood but the cuts were small. I escaped out the door and I went to my new favorite spot. Watching the waves crash against the shore.
"Excuse me?" I heard. Moving my hair out of my face I looked up "can I help you?".
"Yeah you can't be here. This is private property" the young girl said.
"It's a beach. Isn't all beaches public?" I asked.
She shrugged "my brother owns this beach. So it's private property that you're trespassing on".
Looking around was she joking. Not seeing anyone else I looked at her a little odd.
"Well get going" she motioned her hands for me to go away. Just then a young man came running towards us "Emmalee leave her alone".
"I'm sorry my sister can be annoying" the young man smiled.
He seemed young. Maybe in his early twenties. Blonde hair and fit. "She didn't bother me" I said.
Nothing else was said just his sister ran away and left him there to stare at me. Talk about awkward! He's probably seeing all the cuts on my face. Great!
"Look... nice beach. I'll just leave" I got up and walking away fast.
//
Trying to sneak back into the house without my mother noticing. Didn't want her trying to come back for round two. I definitely needed a shower. I smelled like the beach.
"Gia? Is that you?" My dad asked.
"Yeah it's me" I answered.
"I thought you were in your room this whole time. Where were you?" He asked.
"Oh just the beach. Did you know it's a private beach?" I said.
"That new beach? Yeah someone bought it" he said.
"Interesting... where's mom?" I asked.
He looked around "she's here somewhere... you need her? I can just yell".
Waving him to stop "no need for that. I'm good. I was just asking that's all". He smiled "need money?".
I nodded "sure if you're offering".
He handed me one hundred dollars "don't spend it in one place". I needed new clothes. My ears perked up hearing a familiar foot steps. That's when I thanked my dad and raced upstairs. My mother wasn't about to ruin anything my dad and I were chatting about.
She would without hesitation take this money from me and justify it too. Stashing this money with all the others I managed to hide from her. That's my emergency fund. Just in case I have to flight or fight.
