Gia's Beginning

GIA POV

I don't know how long I've been asleep. But my body ached so much. My throat was so dry. Trying to force my eyes open but I couldn't. All I saw was black. But I can hear... I hear a beeping noise... I hear people walking.  Then I feel someone's touch.

But I can't see anything.

"Thank goodness you brought her here when you did, Delano. Or Gia wouldn't be here right now. You saved her life!" Someone said.

Delano? I remember seeing him... he saved me.

"Thanks doc! Would you know when she'll wake up from this coma?" He asked.

"It's all a waiting game" the doctor answered.

I'm here. I'm awake. I just can't speak or see!

"Oh okay" Delano said.

That's when I felt his touch again. Feeling a spark run through me.

"Gia, can you please wake up?! Please?!. I'm not sure what made you do this. You could've called me if you needed someone to talk to. I've would've listened and try to help" he said.

I'm here...

"I miss you. I haven't told you this but... ever since seeing you at the beach I can't stop thinking about you. There's this weird magnetic pull between us. I felt it. I'm not a pedophile by any means... that's why I chose to wait until you are of age to pursue anything" he continued.

Hearing a door open "Gia? What the hell? What happened?!"...

That's Bria... I can tell from the dramatic tone in her voice. Also bad timing...

Delano glanced at her "Gia tried to kill herself two nights ago. I just happened to find her as she was dying".

Knowing how dramatic Bria is "oh my god! Is she okay? Alive?".

"She's okay for now. They have her in a medical induced coma until she wakes up" he answered.

Feeling Bria slightly touch me. It wasn't as gentle as Delano's.

"Poor Gia! Why do this? You have me! You could've called me!" She said.

Yeah right... No thank you!.

"You guys been friends for a long time?" Delano asked Bria.

"Yeah since elementary school. Gia is like a sister to me" she said.

"Wow! She's never mentioned you before we ran into each other" he said.

"Where are my manners? I'm Bria" I know she extended her arm out so she can touch him.

"Oh I'm Delano" feeling the bed shake a little I know I was right.

It was quiet. But they were still there.

"You own that beach right?" She asked.

"Yeah... renovating it before opening back up" he answered.

"Wow a smart man" she said.

Here we go... don't fall for it Delano.

"I wouldn't say smart but I like money and making money" he said.

"We have something in common... I like money too" she said.

"Cool" he said.

Hearing a chair move... I know she moved next to him. She's trying to take him from me.

"Maybe one day we can just hang out at the beach and you can show me what renovations are taking place and why" she suggested.

He cleared his throat "I'm actually busy for a while... but once it's done and back open you can come see it for yourself".

"Busy? You are here at the moment. You don't seem busy" she said.

"Gia is someone I've gotten to know. I've helped her with things when she needed it. She's a good person so because she treated me with kindness I'm here making sure she's okay" he answered.

Bria sucked her teeth "Gia a good person? Yeah okay! She plays the victim role like a pro! In reality she knows how to manipulate people to feel sorry for her".

If I could open my eyes...

"It's crazy as your sister so you called Gia... is laying here in a coma and maybe won't wake up and here you are talking shit about her. What kind of person does that make you?" Delano asked.

Hearing heavy footsteps and then a door slam shut...

His touch once again...

"I don't know what type of friends you have but that Bria isn't it" he said.

I wanted to laugh... but he's right.
