GIA POV

I couldn't be happier that I was back home. That trip was a complete disaster. Guilt also was eating me up since that innocent man got arrested for doing nothing. I needed a break from Bria for a couple of days.

At my favorite spot.

Hearing the waves crash at the shore just soothed me. Just a matter of days until I get notice of what my future holds.

My mother has been ghost this entire time which is very odd.

I know she's plotting something and who knows she might just try and kill me. Maybe I should just hide out for a bit.

"Gia! Hey!" I knew the voice.

I looked up from under my hat "hey".

He sat next to me "how you been? Since the hospital thing".

I shrugged "I'm better... thanks for asking".

He just continued to stare at me "you look down. What's wrong?".

"I won't bother you with my chaotic life that I didn't ask for" I answered.

"Try me..." he said.

Letting out a breath "my mom and I got into a scuffle... she called the cops. Hence why I'm on my own which I don't mind at all. It's better than living with that woman. But now because she claims I assaulted her I may serve time in jail if found guilty".

"Wow... I can see why you are sitting here then. May I ask... why did you and your mom have a fight?" He asked.

Putting my head down I've never told anyone about what happened at that house. Bria just knows cause she happened to witness it "umm my mom has been abusing me for a very long time... I got tired of it. So I fought back".

Delano pulled me into a side hug "geez Gia I'm sorry... you shouldn't have to experience that. No one should".

Fixing my hat cause it was about to come off with his sudden act of affection.

"Look that was weird for me. Can you not do that again. The whole touching thing is odd for me" I said.

He put his hands up "I understand".

I smiled "shouldn't you be working?".

He looked back "this place isn't open just yet but soon so I'm free".

A silence filled the space between us.

He turned to me "I know this is going to be weird for you but would you like to come with me to the lake? It's a secluded lake. Wait? I know that sounded bad... but yeah I mean we can chill and swim. That's it".

Titling my head "I guess so. I'm free today".

He smiled "really? Well I can pick you up or you can just follow me up there".

"The second choice" I smiled.

He nodded "cool... how about two?".

I nodded.

He jumped up "you made my day, Gia".

We both were laughing at a crazy story he was telling me.

"Are you serious?" I asked.

He nodded "yeah he went straight down and curved it was funny to see".

"Wow!" I said.

"I think when you're happy Gia. You have an amazing laugh and pretty smile" he said.

Clearing my throat "thanks".

It got weird for that split second... taking off my shirt and shorts "are we swimming or not?". I ran and jumped into the water. Delano followed suit right after.

I don't know why but water for me made me feel free. As if my problems didn't matter anymore. The cold feel of this water and the breeze that followed felt nice.

Feeling a splash of water hit me. Delano laughed "got you".

Splashing him back he picked me up and threw me into the water.

Afterwards he started a small fire because it was getting a little chilly and since we were still wet... yeah you get it.

"Thirsty?" He asked.

I nodded.

He gave me a soda "coke?".

I shrugged "it's fine".

He turned on some music and I just danced around like a fool.

Delano pulled my arm and I danced together. That's when I felt his lips on mine. He quickly pulled back "I'm sorry".

"For what?" I asked. Making me feel ugly.

"The whole touching thing" he said still close to my face as if he wants confirmation to kiss me again.

Leaning in to meet him I allowed my lips to connect to his. That's when he deepened the kiss more.

Pulling away he just stared at me... "let's dance" I said.

He blinked for a moment like he was under a trance. But he joined in anyway.
