GIA POV

I had a good day today. A smile never left my face. It's been a long time since I was this happy. Opening my car door I got out still in my bikini top and shorts. Swinging my bag over my shoulder "and where were you?!".

Dammit.

Turning around I see Bria standing there with an attitude.

"If you can't tell I was at the beach" I said.

"Which one? Cause I know the one you trespass on is closed".

"A new spot I came across" I said.

She squinted at me a little "why do you smell like a man?".

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"You smell like a man. The cologne is strong. I mean unless you are wearing cologne that's on you but don't wonder why men don't ask you out" she said.

"I think you're crazy! And I'm tired actually. So I'm going in for a long overdue nap" I said.

She blinked at me "I'll see you later then".

I gave her a piece sign and walked inside. Bria cannot know about Delano. Or she will try and take him for herself.

A month later...

Here I am standing in a court room. My mother was sitting in the seat with fake tears. She wanted everyone to see she was the victim. My father... the man I cherished... was sitting behind her just caressing her. He shook his head at me in shame. That made tears fill my eyes... that's when I realized I truly have no one.

"Gia? Do you have representation?" The judge asked.

Looking around and hesitating to answer "umm..."

The doors opened up and a young woman came rushing to my side "I'm her representation sir". Wide eyeing her cause I'm not sure where she came from. Looking back at the door I saw Delano peaking through the crack and he smiled.

Holy crap how did he know I didn't have anyone to defend me?.

This woman was good too. She made my mother stop with the fake tears.

After and two hour battle of both lawyers going back and forth. I had pictures of many times this woman laid hands on me. My lawyer smiled as she handed the judge the folder.

"How can she lie about the abuse when she has proof?" My lawyer asked.

This made my mother jump up and point at me "I should've never had you!".

The courtroom gasped.

My father seemed confused.

But a small smile spread across my face. Her mask was slipping off.

"She's a whore! Working at that god forsaken hotel!" She screamed.

The judge slammed his javelin "I will not have this type of behavior in my court room! Second, Gia I want to say I feel very sorry for what you went through. By the looks of your mother and father you would be better off by yourself. I'm dropping the case".

My mother tried to launch at me but the guards stopped her "let me at her!".

I walked out all smiles and waved at her. Opening the door Delano stood up "so? What happened?".

"My moms mask slipped off and she showed who she really is. Judge felt bad for me and dropped the case" I said.

He hugged me I got tense. Pulling back "sorry I forgot again".

"It's fine! But thank you for what you did" I said.

He fanned me "don't worry about it".

The lawyer walked out and smiled at me "nice working with you". Delano nodded and handed her an envelope. With that she grabbed it and walked out the building.

We followed suit and stood by my car. Before I could say anything Bria jumped in front of me making me jump into Delano. He caught me and kept me from falling "so I was right? That smell was of a man and a very handsome man" she smiled.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Came to support my friend... in a time of need" she said but her eyes were stuck on Delano.

"Right... anyway thank you for everything I appreciate more than you know" I said.

He nodded "again... anytime". Giving him a look to leave but he wasn't grasping it.

Bria smiled "where are my manners? I'm Bria and you are..."

Before Delano could even answer I jumped in "he's about to leave... go!".

He seemed confused but started walking away slowly. I gave him a look of sorry but he nodded. Dammit Bria.

"Why would you be so rude and chase him away like that? Is he single? How old is he? He looks like a grown man. I like them grown" she said.

"He's a nobody. Anyway I won the case so I'm now going back home to unwind from this very eventful day" I said getting into my car.

"Gia, I feel like you're avoiding me. And you know how I feel when I'm ignored!" She said.

Starting my car up "look I'm just tired. We will talk later! Okay".

She nodded and I drove off. Seeing Delano in his car I honked my horn. He glanced up and smiled "hey".

"I'm sorry about before. Umm... would you like to come over later. Maybe I cook us something. I'm a very good cook" I said.

He squinted at me "because you seem to plead your case well... be there around five".

I smiled "cool".
