CHAPTER ELEVEN

Madeline.

“She still needs me, her real mom!” She exclaimed.

“Have you no shame?” I snickered. “A mom, you? After you left her?”

When you make a decision to have a child, you’re also making a decision to take responsibility for that child. You don’t abandon your obligation as a parent because you have other plans.

“Because I had no choice that time! Now, that I’m back. I’ll get my daughter back!” She exclaimed.

Gano’n lang? No choice?

“Really? No choice? You had a choice before, but you wasted it on a fucking man! You were so desperate to get rid of the baby because of the man that you really love that you were willing to leave the innocent child behind. You’re heartless and a selfish bitch. Tapos ngayon babalik ka, why? Because you’re done with your man and you missed your daughter? Don’t give me that bullshit. After you left her, babalik ka na lang na parang walang nangyari at sasabihing I’ll get my daughter back. Wow ha. Ang galing mo rin, noh?” I mimicked her.

She glared at me. “You’ll never see her again,” she confidently said.

I chuckled. I crossed my arms over my chest. “You’re her biological mom, but… you have no rights to her. I legally adopted her and it was granted years ago. This means you have already lost the legal rights to Naveah. The moment that you signed the consent Your rights to my daughter have been terminated. It’s by our agreement. Did you forget it? And what you did to my daughter now... I can use it in court. Kidnapping,” I seriously stated.

Her victorious smile vanished because of what I said.

“I admired your guts for coming here alone, ha? I will not let this pass.”

“No! She’s mine! You’re not going to get her to me!”

“I’ll give you two hella choices. You bring my daughter back to me or— I’ll sue you,” I threatened. “Are you ready to go to jail?”

“You can’t threaten me,” bigkas nito sa matapang na boses.

“Let’s see.” Binalingan ko ng tingin si Manang. “Manang! Call all my lawyers and tell them to come here. We’ll have to discuss something important. I guess this sister of mine forgot who I am. My dearest sister. I think messing with me is a very wrong choice.” I smirked.

You don’t know what I can do, my sister. You don’t know the power I hold. I’m not just a mere businesswoman that you can mess with. I’m richer than Azucena’s. Keep that in mind.

“We are not yet done!”

He smiled at me. “Aalis na ako, I’ll be back tomorrow.” Biglang paalam nito sa akin.

Kahit nagtataka ay tumango-tango ako. “Okay, goodbye. Goodnight.” Was all I said.

I let out a heavy sigh and walked inside my house. Manang followed me.

“Anong gagawin namin kay Clarita, Madam?” Hindi pa kami tuloyang nakakapasok sa loob ng mag tanong ang isa sa bodyguards na may hawak kay Carlita.
