Third Person POV

"Let me eat you first," Kao said to Coo with a naughty gleam in his eyes.

He leaned towards Coo and Coo smiled back at him.

Just when Kao's lips were a few inches away from Coo's Coo placed an index finger on Kao's lips.

"I am more submissive when my stomach is not empty," this time it was Cooheart who had a naughty gleam in his eyes.

Kao could only shake his head as he took the seat beside Cooheart at table.

"The way to a man's heart... " Cooheart started to say and Kao finished the saying for him "... is through his stomach."

"Exactly," Cooheart said with a wide grin as he pierced a teriyaki beef strip with his fork and placed it into his mouth.

Both Kao and Coo made quick work of the teriyaki beef strips spread out on a bed of blanched and salted bean sprouts.

Cooheart was drinking the last drops of his honey lemon iced tea when his phone started to ring.

He took out his phone from his pocket.

It was Mrs. Puangmalee, Title's mother calling.

Kao recognized the last name and grabbed Cooheart's phone from Cooheart's hand.

"Hey!" Cooheart protested. "Give me back my phone!"

"Why are you still keeping in touch with your ex-boyfriend's mother?" Kao demanded to know as he raised the phone above his head out of reach of Cooheart and let the call go to voicemail.

"Why can't I?" Cooheart asked. "We're still good friends. Just because we're no longer together doesn't mean that we should become enemies."

"That's not my issue, Cooheart," Kao said, fixing Cooheart with an almost hostile stare. "If you continue to keep in touch, there's always the chance that you might get back together again, and I am not about to let that happen."

"You don't trust me to be faithful to you?" Cooheart asked, his voice sounding a bit disappointed.

"No, I don't," Kao said firmly, not even feeling apologetic about it.

"I can't believe you," Cooheart said, shaking his head. "Give me back my phone please."

"No, I'm keeping it with me for now," Kao said, pocketing Cooheart's phone. "Let's go to the living room and watch something nice on TV."

Cooheart followed, starting to regret that he came to Kao's house on impulse, without giving himself time to think things over.

While Cooheart and Kao were watching some talk show on the TV set, Cooheart started to hatch a plan.

During a commercial, Cooheart started to cough non stop.

"Are you alright?" Kao looked worried as he watched Cooheart coughing continuously.

"Don't worry," Cooheart said. "I have some cough syrup in my car. I will go and get it. Oh, and I better let my mom know that I am here with you so she doesn't start wondering where I am."

Kao fished Cooheart's phone from his pocket and handed it to Cooheart.

Cooheart went out to his car in the driveway.

The moment he was inside, he started the enginge and eased his car out of Kao's driveway.

When Kao heard the engine running, he got up from the couch and rushed out of his house.

Too late. He saw Cooheart's car speeding down the street.

When Cooheart felt that he was far enough away from Kao's house, he drove into a shoulder of the street and stopped his car. He tapped on his missed call from Title's mom.

"Hello, Cooheart?" Mrs. Puangmalee's tearful voice came on the phone.

"What's going on, mom?" Cooheart suddenly realized how Kao must become so upset at hearing him call Title's mom as 'mom', whereas Santa never complained about it.

"Title and I are at the vet with Cocoa!" Mrs. Puangmalee's voice sounded really anxious and agitated.

"Why, what happened to Cocoa?" Cooheart asked, starting to feel anxious himself.

"It seems he is allergic to something he ate because his whole body is swollen and he can hardly breathe!" Mrs. Puangmalee said. "The vet has given him an injection to counteract the allergic reaction and we are here waiting for him to recover."

"Do you want me to go over there to join you?" Cooheart offered.

"Your presence would give me and Title a much needed emotional support," Mrs. Puangmalee said tearfully.

"Text me the vet clinic address," Cooheart said.

When the address came into Cooheart's phone, he started his car again and drove in the direction of the vet clinic.

Title met Cooheart at the entrance of the clinic.

"Thank you for coming to see Cocoa," Title said as he gave Cooheart a quick hug and then led him inside the clinic.

Mrs. Puangmalee stood up from her chair in the waiting room and gratefully hugged Cooheart tight.

"The vet nurse told me that Cocoa is starting to recover," she said to Cooheart.

"That's good," Cooheart said, feeling relieved when he heard the latest on Cocoa.

"You wanna come home with us when we bring Cocoa back?" Mrs. Puangmalee asked Cooheart. "I will cook for you some jumbo shrimp scampi. A large package is right now thawing in the kitchen sink."

"That sounds great!" Cooheart nodded eagerly.

In Cooheart's book, Mrs. Puangmalee was the best cook in all of Thailand. There was never a dish that she had cooked for him that Cooheart was not impressed with.

Title was observing Cooheart and he had a loving and indulgent smile on his face.

"You poor baby!" Cooheart was the one who stood up and received Cocoa into his arms from the vet nurse.

"Let me carry him home so that you can drive undistracted," Title said, taking Cocoa from Cooheart.

"Okay, I will follow you and mom in my car," Cooheart said, handing Cocoa over to Title.
