Her eyes were droopy as she stayed leaning on the window to look outside, the noise of traffic and music mixed with each other but that didn't faze the incoming sleep taking over her mind and her body.

He lowered the volume of the music twice now, watching her fall asleep.

Although a part of him wanted to wake her up so she could argue with him, he let her rest, he knew better about the workload on her than anyone else since he personally selected all the important files she needed to study before starting working.

His phone pinged with a text, picking it up from the cup holder, he looked at the text Adi sent him

'get her a burger too, she didn't have lunch.' It read before another text came in, 'and be nice to her, she's like a little sister to you.'

"Little si- huh?" He scoffed before putting the phone away, his nose scrunching up in distaste as he looked at Haya, Adi's words repeating in his mind again and again.

No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't look at her as a little sister.

Stopping the car, he tapped her knee, making her jump in her place before looking at him, horrified at the sudden disturbance. Without a word, he got out of the car, opening her side of the door.

She got out cluelessly, looking around before turning to him in worry.

"Aap kahan le aaye merko? Aise na karein, mai ghar kaise jaungi? Aap yahan chodh kar jaaoge mujhe? Kisi ne mujhe kidnap kar lia toh? Yahan lights bhi nahi hain, mai...mai case kar dungi aap par!" She warned before getting inside the car again, "Maine yahan se kahin nahi jaana." She shook her head.

(Where did you bring me? Don't do this to me, how will I go back home? Will you leave me here? What if someone kidnapped me? There are no lights here, I'll.... I'll file a case on you!) (I won't move from here)

"We're in the parking lot of a restaurant. Come out now." He opened the door again.

"Oh." She murmured, picking up her purse before he interrupted, "Just get your phone."

She nodded, fixing her shirt and pants as she stepped out of the car. Raghav gestured for her to start walking once she was done.

"I wasn't scared, that was probably my sleep talking, okay?" She looked at him.

"Okay." He agreed, biting back a smile.

"Yeah, don't think I get scared easily. I know jujitsu." She lied, "And karate."

"Kung foo?"

"Yeah, that too!" She nodded.

"Good."

Walking out of the parking lot, she looked at the name, it was a luxury restaurant.

She stopped walking abruptly, making him walk into her as he was just a step behind her, "Why'd you stop walking?" He asked, stabling her.

"They have the shittiest food to exist, I came here once, and the food was so bad." She looked at him, scrunching her nose, "Can you just drop me home?" She asked.

"No?"

"Look, Mr. Agnihotri-"

"Raghav."

"I'm very tired and I just want to go home and lie down on my bed, you know what? I would've already reached my home by now!" She started walking away from him.

"Okay fine, wait here. I'll bring the car." He stopped her.

She tied her hair in a loose bun while waiting for him, but he still didn't return her claw clip, she made a mental note to ask him for it once she sat in the car.

She checked her phone, scrolling through a few texts with Adi freaking out after every other minute about Naina doing or saying something.

She blinked as she felt a water droplet on her face before one droplet turned into multiple, the thundering sound alerting her about the heavy rainfall about to come.

Seeing the car stop in front of her, she got inside hurriedly, "It started raining out of nowhere." She breathed in relief, rubbing her hands on her clothes.

"I'll drop you home before it gets worse." He replied. The rain started falling heavier with every passing minute, "Why do you have to live so far?" He asked in annoyance.

"How is that my fault? I've been living there for three years! Your company is far away from my place." She crossed her arms.

He didn't reply, focusing on the road as the visibility got worse with raindrops continuously falling on the windshield, the wiper blades not doing enough.

"I think we should stop, you can't see anything." She looked at him.

"It's getting late." He looked at his watch, "We were stuck in the traffic for thirty minutes, now this." A tired sigh left his lips as he stopped the car under a tree, leaning his head on the headrest of his seat.

"I'm so sorry, you got stuck here for no reason at all." She mumbled, the sound of raindrops filling the silence between them.

"My apartment is just a kilometer away if you're comfortable. Let's go there? I'll drop you as soon as the rain stops." He suggested.

"But-"

"I don't think it's safe to drive on the highway road in this weather situation." He interrupted, "Or I have no problem in waiting here." He added quickly, looking at her fidgeting with the nonexistent lint on her pants.

She looked at him before taking her phone out, checking the weather report, "I don't think this rain is going to stop anytime soon." She sighed. She didn't want to go to his place, not this soon.

"Let's wait till it slows down."

"What if someone...robbed us?" She asked, her eyes widening at the thought, "There's no car door door tak, kahin kisi ne chori karne ke liye humara gala kaat dia toh-"
(There's no car in sight, what if someone slit our throats just to steal-)

"Shut up."

"Do you not believe me? These things happen in real! What if-"

"Will you stop?" He interrupted, starting to feel paranoid with her words, "I'll start driving if you're that suspicious about us getting killed." He said, turning the ignition on.

"What about your parents? Would they allow that?" She asked, keeping a hand over his before quickly retreating.

"I don't live with my parents." He replied.

"You won't murder me, right?" She asked.

"Oh my god, will you please stop talking about death now?" He asked, getting frustrated.

"Okay." She whispered.

Ten minutes later, they were standing inside his apartment, "Why do you need so much space just for one person?" She asked, looking around the spacious apartment.

His living room could fit half her apartment alone, "Because I can afford it?"

"Yeah but...it needs a lot of maintenance! I bet you have like...four people to just clean this place." She replied.

"Okay? I'm employing four extra people." He shrugged, "Do you not like having your own space?" He asked.

"Yeah...I guess." She nodded.

"There's a guest room there, third one once you turn left from there." He pointed, "You can freshen up." He said, walking to his room.

She took a deep breath once the door to his room was closed, slumping down on the sofa in the hall.

"What are you doing here Haya?" She asked herself, closing her eyes tightly, "Bhagwan ji, bass pyaar se dekha hi to tha, aapne itne saare chapters kyun jump karwa diye?" She slapped her forehead multiple times before walking to the guestroom.
(God, I just looked at him lovingly, why did you make us jump so many chapters in between?)
