"Who changed the channel?"
Haya asked as she took a seat in the middle of the giant couch in the hall, keeping a bowl full of berries on her stomach, tapping Nivaan's head with her spoon.
"I'll tell my papa." Nivaan looked at her with a side eye, rubbing the back of his head even though he was hit on the top.
"I'll see your papa, give the remote back now." She snatched the remote from the kid, switching the channel back to the one where the Doraemon movie was playing.
"Mumma." She heard two girly voices whining but pretended not to hear them, she was tired of watching the bald baby every single day. The new baby was never getting to see cocomelon in her presence, that was for sure.
Nivaan, Naina and Adi's son had a love-hate relationship with Haya, he would spend most of the time with her yet would fight with her at every chance he got.
She gave them each a strawberry to keep them distracted.
Nivaan being the oldest had his little sister, who was just a year old sitting in his lap while both his cousins sat beside him, Nivaan gave his smaller strawberry to Apoorva, his little sister and took the bigger strawberry out of her little hands.
"It's so hot outside." Kabir walked in, his shirt drenched in sweat as he kept two tubs of ice cream on the table.
Nivaan was quick to leave Apoorva and rush towards the ice cream to choose what flavour he wanted.
Haya shook her head, making Apoorva sit straight in case she fell and keeping a few pillows around her daughters, Vaidehi and Kridha, both of them just a year apart. Vaidehi just started playschool while Kridha only turned two a month ago.
It had been seven years since Raghav proposed to her, a year after when their house was finally furnished, they both tied the knot, Naina and Adi following a year after.
"One scoop only Nivaan." Haya called out, watching him dip the biggest spoon he could find into the vanilla choco-chip ice cream, "I won't let you have chips." She warned as Vaidehi followed her brother, Kridha in her tow.
Kabir took a seat on the sofa, picking up Apoorva as he raised her in the air, making her laugh.
"How's Suhani?" Haya asked.
"Pretty." He replied.
After working as her bodyguard for two years, he was promoted but chose to continue his job as her bodyguard, now almost eight years later, he still worked as her bodyguard.
More than a bodyguard, he was a family to them, close enough for the kids to refer to him as 'mamu'
Suhani, the daughter of a wealthy businessman was in trouble a few years ago, Samar had Kabir go on a secret task to save her and ever since then, they had been dating on and off for four years.
"I meant are you back together again?" Haya asked, casting a glance at the children making a mess with the ice cream, since she was expecting another baby soon, she had problems in getting up and sitting down easily, leaving them to whatever they were doing she turned back to Kabir.
She was on maternity leave for the last one month, giving the caretaker a leave since she wanted to spend time with the children.
