Katherine
I was standing beside my locker, trying to shove a couple of notebooks inside of it. I'm usually very clean and organized, but I haven't been sleeping much lately.
"Come on! We should go to that party!" Melanie coaxed.
"Where is it anyway?" I asked her, still trying to get a hold of the books and the papers. If only she looked my way and saw that I was battling over here.
"It's at Newport beach." She said, checking out the lacrosse players.
"I can't. My parents won't let me go there. It's across the city." I explained to her as all of my belongings fell down. Great. I sighed in defeat and started gathering my things.
"Ouh, that was a serious battle." A guy mocked me and I looked up to see a guy hovering over me. His green eyes locked with mine, the coolness of his stare radiating from him.
"Yeah... it was." I muttered, slightly nervous that a cute guy came to talk to me.
"Katherine, I want you to meet my best friend Logan." Josh said when I raised to my feet while holding my notebooks. He was referring to the guy with the green eyes. He was very gorgeous with wavy brown hair and almond shaped eyes.
"So, that's Katherine?" Logan raised a brow at him and Josh shrugged. "I guess you'll do." He said to me and I scowled at him, earning a smirk from him. Who the fuck did he think he is?
"Why would you think that I'll agree to take him in?" I asked Josh who looked at me questioningly.
"He's my friend. He'll do good." He said referring to his friend and patted his shoulder. "You'll behave right?" He asked Logan.
"Of course." Logan answered, looking directly at me.
Little did I know that the guy who said that would behave himself, would turn into a monster.
Here I am, standing in front of him, four years later and almost two years since the last time I saw him. He hasn't changed at all. Still has that wave on his brown hair and coolness in his green eyes. The only difference is that he's older and maybe slightly paler. Well... what would you expect a drug addict, alcoholic to look like? Not to mention that he's a psychopath and an abuser.
I don't know what to do... I told myself that I'll kill him, if I see him again. But I never thought that would happen. I made sure that it wouldn't happen. I feel like screaming and crying at the same time. I want to slap him and break his bones so that he would feel the pain that I once felt. What would Christopher do if he saw him? Oh my god! He's here! Chris is here and I might be weak enough to walk away but he won't stop. Every time when I or someone mentions his name, Chris's eyes fill with rage. If I can't kill him, he would and I can't let that happen to him.
I have to walk away. If I cause a scene, he will see him, maybe he already did. I can't dare myself to look at his way. I feel like time has stopped and my heart stopped beating. Diana is looking at Logan with wide eyes and I think that I look the same.
I dare to take a step... I can walk. I can actually breathe and my heart is still beating. I should run, I should leave this place. I walk past him to take the steps, but he grabs my wrist and turns me around. I feel a burning pain from his touch and jerk my wrist away from him.
"Let me go!" I scream, with a strange voice that feels so foreign but so familiar at the same time.
"Katherine." He says. No! I wanted to forget his voice, I wanted to forget his face. I shake my head in disbelief and that's when I see three of the men rushing towards us. I watch them getting next to me in slow motion.
"Logan!" Harvey shouts. Chris immediately puts the pieces together and runs over to him. I can't let him do anything to him, he'll hurt himself.
"No!" I say stepping in front of Christopher who has a murderous glare towards Logan. He's breathing very fast. It feels like he might explode from anger. I've never seen him like this before. He tries to walk around me, but I don't let him. I try to make eye contact with him, but his eyes are locked on Logan.
"You son of a bitch!" Harvey yells and I hear him throwing a punch.
"What the fuck!" I hear Logan shout.
"Please..." I say to Chris. "Look at me." I tell him, he tries to get away from my touch. It's very hard to hold him back. He's stronger than me and I'm wearing heels. "Please Chris... Look at me..."
He manages to walk past me as tears roll down my face and helps Harvey to punch Logan. I can't listen to this, I can see this violation... This is too much for me. I walk down the stairs and cross the road while a couple of cars honk at me and almost run me over. I don't care where I'm going. I just want to get far far away from here. I step into the sand and walk down the beach to get near the water. It's a little hard to do that in heels, but I don't stop. It's dark out here, almost pitch black. The sound of the ocean and the salty smell that fills my nostrils calms me down a little, but the memories are too strong. I fall down to my knees as the memories rush through my mind and I let my tears soak my dress.
