Katherine

Something that I wanted to know for a long time was where I'm from and who my real family is. I didn't get much information out of my only relatives notes that she left to my adoptive parents and I need to know. There is a whole part of me that has to be yet to discover and I can't just live under a shadow.

"Welcome to your country Miss Black." Chris says as we get out of the Heathrow airport.

London's cold air hits me. Even in June it's somewhere around sixty degrees and after California this place seems cold. But the sun is very welcoming and Chris's eyes are lighted up with excitement. He has that big warm smile on his face as we take a taxi. He loves his country. I know that It's actually mine too, but I don't really know anything about it. I never really lived here.

"Where to sir?" The driver asks. It's weird for me that the driver's side is on the right.

"Belgravia." Chris says, taking my hand in his. "That's where our town house is." He informs me.

"I want to go sightseeing, we didn't really get to see anything when we came here with Diana. It was usually shopping... and pubs." I let out a laugh.

"Don't worry. I'll take you to the best places in London... My dad wants to take us to dinner tomorrow." He says and I look at him.

"Tomorrow is your birthday." I say with disbelief.

"Yeah," He looks at me questioningly.

"You said that you don't want to have boring dinners on your birthday."

"It won't be boring, I'll have you. Also, I really want to see my dad and we will have all day anyway." He says simply.

I let out a sigh, "Hey, it will be fine." He assures me and caresses my cheek.

"If that's what you want then that's what will do." I say and he kisses my forehead.

"I love you." He says.

"I love you more." I say and kiss his lips before looking out the window.

When we get to the place, I notice that it's an expensive neighborhood. Obviously Katherine, what were you expecting? I look into the maps to see that we are near Buckingham and Kensington Palaces.

"Looking for a way to escape?" Chris jokes looking at my phone with our luggage in his hands.

"Very funny." I say with a serious face.

We walk up one of the stairs of the long white building on the street. Chris takes out a set of keys and unlocks the door. As soon as he gets in, the alarm starts buzzing and he enters the pin code to turn it off. I look around to notice the same expensive design that his mother's house has. Marble floors, white walls, antique tables and vases with flowers. They probably have someone who looks after the house when they are away.

"Let's go upstairs." He says and as we take the stairs, I look around the house. I noticed a dining room with a huge table near the entrance and there is a corridor that I think leads into the kitchen. The second floor has an open passageway into the living room and we continue to walk up. On the third floor, there is only one black door and Chris opens it. It's a very elegant bedroom with a big window, dark wooden floors but with a round carpet, beige walls and a fireplace. The bed is huge and has multiple decorative silver and beige pillows on it. There is also a couch right at the end of the bed.

"This is your room?" I ask Chris with amusement as he puts the suitcases next to the fireplace.

"Not very me, huh?" He smiles.
