Chapter 3

EVELYN'S POV

After seeing 8 episodes of the movie I got tired and checked the time and I was shocked. I practically spent my day ogling at a fine young man that will never know I exist in this life time. I shut down my laptop and decided to call Ethan my best friend and longest time crush. He picked the call after three rings

"Hello Eve...", Ethan said as soon as he picked the call. I could feel his smirk from over the phone because he knows I hate the name "Eve". We all know how the first woman that answered the name went down in history and you can agree with me it was an unpleasant experience.

"Are you done with your shift so that we can hang out " I asked him.

"Yeah I just got off work, so let's meet at our usual" he replied and hung up.

Arrrrrrh, I hate this, people don't usually know that it is wrong to hang up the the call first if you weren't the one that put the call through. I definitely know the reason why he hung up first, either he got a call from his so girlfriend or he just saw the so girlfriend.

Yeah and that's the reason my unrequited love ended even before it began. Ethan and his girlfriend Maddison has been dating since High School senior year . Just when I summoned the courage to confess my undying love to him he threw the bombshell at me. You can imagine how hurt and heartbroken I was at the time.

I got to the pub and saw that Ethan was there already with a drink in his hand. "I will have what he is having " I told the bartender.

"So what's your plan as soon as the semester starts"? Ethan asked me.

"Will you still go to college from home or are you finding a place within college" he added.

" You know I am all that my parents has and I cannot bear to leave them all by themselves" I replied.

"I and Maddison has decided to live together as soon as the semester starts, we are already looking for a place" Ethan said and as soon as I heard this my heart shattered into tiny pieces.

"What? Are you fucking serious?" I asked him "Did you even think this through at all? "Are your parents even aware of this dumb and stupid idea of yours " I asked in one breath

"Hey easy peasy Lyn, calm down" Ethan tried to coerce me. "Actually its Maddison's idea and I already thought it through. There isn't anything wrong with it, besides its the trend among college students" he said

"You are only sounding like this because you don't have a boyfriend and you have hardly ever been in love" Ethan said trying to defend himself.

I was really hurt by his statement and I could not swallow the drink I just took a little sip of. As I tried to stand up and head to the restroom I saw Maddison coming in through towards our direction.

I looked at Ethan" Really you still brought her to tag along, Are you fucking serious?" I asked Ethan and he avoided my eyes.

" I got her call when I was attending yours and she wanted to hang out as well..." he was trying  to say but I cut him short.

"I took your shift the other day just because you wanted to go on a date with her and I can't even spend a single moment with you without her being all over you" I said angrily and headed to the bathroom as soon as Maddison got close.

I got to the restroom and poured water on my face to hide the tears that was about to drop. I am not this weak with my emotions so what's really wrong with me today. I felt so cheated and hurt.

I gave myself a small pep talk, wiped my face with the napkin and left . When I got there, Maddison has already gracefully taken a seat in my position and Ethan fucking left her to sit on it. Fuck boys and their love I said in my mind.

"Excuse me ma'am you got the wrong seat" I said to Maddison

"I don't see a wrong seat written on this stool when I sat on it " She replied sizing me up.

Honestly that Maddison of a girl can be a total bitch and I wonder what Ethan even saw in her. In other not to cause a scene I got another stool and sat on while taking my drink in front of madgirl. Yeah that's what I call her.

I sat comfortably, sipping my drink and thinking about my life and how things turned out this way between Ethan and I.

When we were younger we had each other while growing up. We did everything together, did sleepovers together even built princess castle and played the role of a weak princess and him my prince charming saving me. After Madgirl entered the scene everything changed, I so much hate that girl.
