Chapter 50

EVELYN'S POV

I thought my pretty little head and couldn't come up with anything to do for Eros to appreciate his effort in always checking up my dad so I decided to call Ethan instead. He is a guy and will be in a better position to tell me what's best to do for Eros from a guy's point of view. I know he will be at work at the moment but that wouldn't stop me anyways so I dialed his number and he picked it up after four rings.

"Good morning traitor" he answered as soon as he picked the call

"Excuse you that's supposed to be my line" I hushed him

"You were supposed to be my knight in shining armour for the night and ward off ogling men off of me but what did you do huh?" I asked him

"I went to get us a drink and you knew that" he retorted

"A drink? Really for how long? If you weren't my bestfriend I would have gotten rid of you from the surface of the earth right now" I threatened him

"Yeah I messed up and I am really sorry about that" he said

"How about I make it up with lunch while you tell me how you got home yesterday is that cool?" He asked me

"Such a cheapskate just one lunch wouldn't cut it just so you know" I replied him

"Fine...I will treat you to lunch twice and nothing more" he grunted

"Yeah whatever just text me the address" I told him hanging the call

I checked the time and it was still 10am so I had atleast more 2 hours plus before the lunch time so I decided to work on my project while I set an alarm for 12:15pm since his lunch break starts at 1pm.

My alarm blared exactly at 12:15pm so I changed my clothes into something casual. A high waist Jean with a crop top, sneakers and a hand bag. I just dusted a powder on my face applied a lip balm and mascara and I was ready. I left for the eatery since it was close to college and 20mins away and asides that I had traffick to beat as well.

I got to the restaurant by 12:50pm with ten minutes to spare so I ordered some water and waited while going through my socal media handles. Nothing yet has come up about Eros after he did an interview to counter his scandal. When I remember that girl she just riles me up unnecessarily. At exactly 1pm Ethan was here at the restaurant

"I thought you wouldn't be here for atleast another 10mins" I asked him

"With me still trying to make it up with you I don't want to add latecoming to the list so I left 10mins before the lunch time" he answered me

"That's good you did well" I smiled at him. We called the waitress over to take our order and asked her to get the juice ready before the food arrives.

"So how did you get home last night?" Ethan asked me leaning closer to get the gist from me

"Apparently Eros was there at the club with Ivan last night and he saw a guy who was trying to harass me so he came to my rescue " I told him

"Wow...thank God he didn't see me. That would have been a different story. I have a feeling that your husband doesn't like me and he would have definitely misunderstood if he saw us together and truthfully I don't want to ever cross him at all he gives off this I will rip you apart kind of vibe at work" he rambled on about my husband

"So what took your attention away when you went to get the drink for us?" I asked him trying to imitate Eros' smirk but I know I failed terribly

"Why are you scrunching your face like that?" Don't you ever try that embarrassing thing infront of your husband" Ethan voiced out after seeing my smirk.

I was about to reply him but got interrupted by the waitress who brought in our lunch we thanked her and I dug in to eat forgetting about what I wanted to reply back to that jerk of a bestfriend.

"You still haven't told me about the girl you met at the club" I reminded him. He was about about reply when he was abruptly caught off

"Who do we have here?" A familiar voice said. I turned only to see the scowling face of my husband and his bestfriend.

What are the odds that they should be here at this time. I mean they have a cafeteria in the company and there are other fanciful restaurants they could be at but why this one. I know how Eros thinks and just like Ethan said he easily misunderstands and jumps into conclusion. I was expecting him to say something about seeing Ethan and I alone but he surprised me with his next words

"Can we sit with you guys?" He asked politely

"Yes you can most definitely sit with your wife and her platonic bestfriend" Ethan replied rather nervously because I noticed though it wasn't so obvious. I internally face palmed myself, Ethan really? I mean when we were in high school he easily fought for me and stood up to bullies but now he is acting like a pussy in front of my husband.

"So you guys are bestfriends huh?" Eros asked looking intently at Ethan

"Yes that we are right from childhood, we could even pass off as diapers buddy but I met her when she was 8 or was it 10" Ethan said carelessly. Looks like someone finally gained back their confidence while on the other hand my husband was gritting his teeth and Ethan was so oblivious to this and thank God for the timely intervention of Ivan.

"So Eros what will you have let's make the order. Lunch will soon be over" he said making Eros turn his attention back to him.

"Whatever my wife is having" he replied while purposely emphasising on the the word "wife".

"So how is work going so far?" I directed my question to Eros

"Well you can find out for yourself after this" he said

Their food came and we all ate it in silence. It was time for us to pay the bills and as agreed Ethan wanted to pay for the lunch but my husband vehemently disagreed saying

"I wouldn't let any other man feed my wife while I am alive and kicking" like seriously but honestly I am really enjoying this side of him, you know the possiveness and jealousy. Lastly we all settled to Eros paying everybody's bill and we left.

Since I was supposed to go home directly while the other three went back to work I decided to cross to the other side of the road to hail a taxi.

"Where are you going?" My husband asked me holding me back.

"You guys have work so I think I should go home" I answered him in a duh tone.

"You wanted to know how work was going right? So instead I will show you besides home will be so boring" he said dragging me to the car. He opened the door for me and slid me in gently while buckling me up. He went to the other side of the guy and was about to enter before his friend interrupted him

"Uuhmmm...Eros you seem to be forgetting that I am your ride back to the office" he said

"You can both find your way back and you better step on it because lunch time is over" he said in a boss tone and slid into the car

"You know you could have given them a ride back to the company its no biggie at all and you know that"

"Giving them a ride would entail me not doing this" he got very close and kissed me tenderly on the lips

"I have been meaning to do this since I walked into that restaurant" he said strapping himself with the seat belt and zooming off while I was still in daze and in a blushing mess.
