Chapter 15

EVELYN'S POV

It's been a week  since we have been staying with Eros' family and today is the weekend which means we will finally be moving into our own house. Our own house sounded really foreign to me. So from now on It's just going to be I and Eros, whew I ain't mentally prepared for this at all.

The movers are here and they are almost done with loading our stuff. Once they were done, Eros' parents saw us off. I entered into Eros car while the movers followed behind us.

When we got to the Penthouse I was blown away. It was a smart glass house and the view was amazing and breathtaking. I wouldn't mind staying here and facing Eros troubles at all.

The movers helped us in bringing in our stuff which consisted of just clothes because Eros virtually cleaned out his closet in his parent's house. My stuff wasn't much, just the boxes I came with and that's all.

I checked the kitchen and all the utensils and dishes were neatly placed and arranged. Same with the refrigerator which was as well fully stucked with groceries.

I came out to the living room and Eros wasn't there so I went up. The first room I opened was empty but well furnished. I checked the second room and it turned out to be a study/library. I went through the books and they were majorly business books and no novels can you imagine that.

I checked out the third room and it looked like a work out room. It had a treadmill and other gym equipment. So Eros is a work out guy no wonder he looks so fit.

Then I entered the last room and was shocked by the sight I saw. Eros was just in a towel with water dripping from his hair, his abs were in full display and you could see the 'V lines of his torso and mehn is the guy fucking sexy. I didn't know I was drooling over him till he shouted at me.

"What are you doing here?" He shouted. "Just because we shared a room at my parent's house does not mean we will equally share one here" he thundered.

"I was just checking out the house that's all, besides you weren't kind enough to show me to my room before leaving. As you can see I am no clairvoyant " I retorted.

"Honestly I know our marriage wasn't consensual to begin with so I am going to save you all the stress to voice out the harsh words you already have in your mind"

"I know you are not ever going to love me because I was forced on you so I am not hoping on that. You have the liberty to do whatsoever you want to do but don't you ever bring it into this house and disrespect me.

Lastly, show me to my room because I know the last thing you want is for us to sleep together in the same room" I completed with my heart beating fast.

In as much as I mustered all the courage I had in me to say all these with an emotionless face it still hurt so much knowing that my marriage is already a failure even before it started  and that my husband will never love me.

I left and went to the living room and just then the door bell binged. I didn't know we were expecting anyone so I went to check who was at the door. From the door view cam I saw it was a woman in her fifties so I opened the door for her and she entered.

"Good afternoon ma'am" I greeted her respectfully. "Please who are you and who are you looking for" I asked her.

Just as she was about to reply Eros interrupted her.

"Mrs Teresa you are here, glad you could make it. How is your daughter and her family" he asked her.

"They are all good and thanks for asking" she replied him.

"Okay since you are here just follow me then" he said to her while going up and the woman followed her.

Hello people I was here and they totally ignored me as if I were invisible, atleast a proper introduction would have sufficed. Apart from being rude he is treating me as if I am invisible well two can play the game.

I went up stairs, I guessed the only empty room there was mine so I took my stuff up there and started putting my clothes into the closet. The room was sparkling clean so there wasn't much to clean. Once I was done I laid on the bed and decided to call my parents. My mum picked after three rings.

"Hello my baby girl" she said trying to sound excited but failing. I could hear some faint cough coming from her.

"Mum are you okay? Do you need me to come over?" I asked her.

"No dear I am fine, your dad is here with me and he never leaves my side plus the live in nurse is here with us as well so you don't need to worry " she said trying to convince me that she is okay.

"How about dad" I asked her.

"Yo princess I am here and how is your husband" Dad asked.

"He is fine as well, we just moved into our place so we are still busy trying to settle in" I chirped in because I didn't want him to ask me more about Eros or going to the extent of wanting to speak to him. Because honestly I don't know how Eros will react to that.

After I finished speaking with my parents I called Eros parents too to tell them that we got home safely. After my call with them I decided to call Ethan as well because it's been so long we spoke. After one ring he picked up the call immediately.

"Hey E..." he answered weakly.
"Are you okay? " I asked him
"Just fever and headache" he replied
"Have you taken any medications yet and where is Maddison? I asked him because I know they are living together already.

"She went home to see her parents" he replied weakly too. I checked the time and it was past 5pm that means I still had time. I told him to text me his address which he did so I prepared and left.

I bought some porridge on my way and some drugs from the pharmacy. I got to Ethan's place and rang his door bell after a few rings he opened the door. Ethan looked so weak and pale and there were eye bags under his eyes and his lips were cracked as well.

"You look horrible" I told him trying to make a joke
"I know" he replied weakly having no strength to laugh at the joke

I took a good look at the room and it looked untidy and unkempt.

"Where did you say Maddsion went to again?" I asked him. "And how long has she been gone" I added.

"To her parents and since your wedding I haven't seen her" Ethan replied. My instincts just told me that there was more to the story but I didn't want to push it. So I served Ethan the porridge since it was still warm.

After he finished eating I fed him the drugs and made his bed for him to lay down. Since he was still running temperature I took a towel and dipped into a cold water to massage his head. I guess the drugs made him feel drowsy because he slept off immediately.

I used the opportunity to clean up his whole house and put the remaining porridge inside his refrigerator, I checked the time and it was 8:15pm whew I am in a lot trouble I panicked. I didn't tell Eros I was heading out neither did I tell him where I was going to. But my subconscious mind told me he wouldn't even notice even if I was gone for a week but when I got home I guess my subconscious mind was very wrong.
