Chapter 41

EVELYN'S POV

I woke up in the wee hours of the morning to relieve myself only for me to see an sms from our course representative that an impromptu test has been fixed today for 10am so we should be prepared. Honestly some lecturers should be sued for their tardiness and slapdash attitude. I mean who in the freaking hell fixes tests like that to finalist students. After brooding and cursing out the lecturer I used the remaining time to study and prepare for the test.

I studied till 6:30am before going down to prepare breakfast. Yesterday night while I was going through the refrigerator to find something to eat I came across some bread and egg so I decided to serve it for breakfast and as well use the opportunity to thank Eros for dinner too. I didn't know he was so thoughtful to the extent of going out of his way to get me food from a diner after I complained about the service of a five star restaurant. I blushed when I remembered the memory from last night.

I boiled some hot water for tea using the electric boiler while I made the scrambled egg. I placed some slices of bread, a plate of egg and a cup of tea on Eros side of the table. I was about to do same for mine when Eros came down all dressed up and ready for work. When I raised my eyes to look at him I almost choked on my own spit but I averted my gaze so that he would not notice me ogling at him.

"I thought we didn't have any groceries at all?" He asked me sitting down and adjusting himself on the chair

"Good morning to you too" I answered him since he wasn't taught morning courtesy and greetings and I didn't want to bring out the educator in me and ruin breakfast.

"Luckily we had some bread and egg so I made these out of them" I answered his question

"Pardon my manners, good morning dear and hope you enjoyed your sleep?" He asked me sipping from the cup of his hot tea. Did he just refer to me as dear. I felt tingles at the pit of my stomach but I still masked it not showing him that I was affected by him

"Yeah it was great, except I had to wake up earlier to prepare for a test I have this morning" I replied him still adding a bit of information to keep the conversation going because I didn't want him to stop talking. Unfortunately for me he was done with his breakfast faster than I would have wanted.

"Thanks for breakfast and Goodluck on that test of yours. Uuhmm least I forget take this card and get some groceries on your way back and please don't say no" He said dropping the card on the table and giving me a billion dollar smile that weakened me to my marrows and thank God he left immediately because who knows how I would have embarrassed myself in his presence.

It was when he left that I caught myself, I can't believe I was just drooling over Eros. One thing is for sure that these feelings is just a phase and it will pass. Definitely what I have for him now is infatuation and nothing else. All my life I have only loved one guy and that is Ethan my bestfriend. After my breakfast I did the dishes and went up to prepare for school.

I got to school by 9am and since there was no lecturer in class I brought out my notes from my early study this morning and started going through them. I was still reading till someone interrupted me.

"Is this seat taken?" A male familiar voice asked me. I looked up to see who it was and saw a familiar guy I know and I met recently but for some reason I cannot remember his name.

"Uummh...hey yeah, I mean no the seat isn't taken" I replied him clearing my throat still trying to remember his name.

"From the look on your face I am guessing you are still trying to figure out my name" he said smiling

"I totally remember who you are and where we met but I may have skipped your name part when you introduced yourself last time" I told him honestly.

"Nah its all good my name is Cayden Peterson"

"Cayden with a 'C' and not with a 'K' I interrupted him as soon as I remembered.

"Yeah..now you remember" he said smiling

"So sorry about that, just have a lot going on so I am kinda forgetful" I told  him

"You don't really have to sweat it I understand" he said and he really sounded like a good guy.

"So what are you going through?" He asked me taking a peak at my notes

"Just revising for the test this morning though I wasn't able to cover much since it was impromptu" I replied him still revising from my book

"Here have this" he said giving me his notes.
"Trust me on this and go over it. I took my time making it and my instincts never fails" he completed.

"What about you? What will you revise with?" I asked him

"Remember I made the notes so it's all in my head" he answered me cockily

I didn't have much to lose anyways so I took his note and went through it. 15 minutes later the lecturer came in and handed out the test question papers and gave us 40 minutes to finish it up. When the time was up he asked us all to stand up and leave the lecture room while he packs our answer sheets. I was outside feeling good about the test because it went well when I felt a tap on my shoulders. I looked up and saw Cayden smiling down at me.

"So how did it go?" He asked me still with a smile on his face. He is always smiling and come to think of it there is something about his smile that I am yet to figure out

"It went well thanks to you" I said trying to match my smile with his

"Your notes were indeed a life saver. If I had really stuck to my note then I would have flopped this test big time" I told him.

"Told ya my instincts never fails" he replied me

"I will be needing your instincts in the near future" I told him jokingly

"You can always count on me bella" he responded in an Italian accent

" si signor" I responded to him mimicking the Italian accent.

"I gotta go to my next class so I will see you around" I told him leaving for my next class. My next class was just an optional language class I was learning for fun.

After my classes were over I decided to head to the mall and get some groceries before going home to make dinner. While shopping I came across Eros on screen in the television set displayed in the mall in an interview looking dashing as ever. I stopped to listen to the interview and the question they asked him was about his scandal with the model. The way he answered the question if you didn't know better you would actually believe him but I knew the truth and I know all he said were plain lies because he was actually sleeping with her and even brought her home once. Seeing Eros in the interview just brought back memories from that night I wished to forget.

I hurriedly finished the shopping and went home to prepare dinner. I wanted to prepare dinner and eat before Eros got back because my mood was sour and I didn't want him to meet me in that state. I made dinner as fast as I could and ate before before retiring to my room for the day.
