A/N: This was my original idea before Tom stayed over for Christmas dinner when he and Margot sang Christmas songs together. Enjoy 😊 x

Tom slid gracefully onto the chair beside Margot. Her fingers poised above the keys before she began to play like a well oiled machine.
"My fingertips are holding onto
The cracks in our foundation
And I know that I should let go
But I can't
And every time we fight, I know it's not right
Every time that you're upset and I smile
I know I should forget
But I can't
And every time we fight, I know it's not right
Every time that you're upset and I smile
I know I should forget
But I can't
And every time we fight, I know it's not right
Every time that you're upset and I smile
I know I should forget
But I can't..." She sang, ending with her eyes closed while she was drawn into the passion she was putting into every word. Then as Tom applauded enthusiastically Margot gradually opened her eyes.
"Wow, darling...you've blown me away." He said honestly.
"Be honest!" She replied and playfully bumped her arm into his.
"I am! You seriously blew me away. You have an incredible voice! Did you ever think about being a musician or even a singer?" He asked curiously, as he lightly traced some of the keys with his long fingers.
"Maybe at one point, yeah...music has been a huge influence in my life. P!nk especially...I was taught to play piano originally. My Dad and both of my Grandparents played, so of course I had to learn too. It became one of my early loves. Of course there's no room here for a piano, but I thought it was sweet that Elouise and Mary got me the keyboard and the boys chipped in too, as a birthday present...but acting really drew me in. When I was little I'd sit there in front of the Tv being mesmerised by the different worlds, and being caught up in the idea of what it would be like to live in those worlds. The simplicity of the thought fuelled my mind, I'd conjure up those worlds in my games with Peyton. As a teen we started reciting Friends religiously, sometimes pretending to be on the show ourselves...growing up gave me a different perspective every time I looked into acting. The idea that pages of a book could translate everything you thought onto the big screen seemed amazing, including thinking about the possibility of working with actual legends...sorry I'm just mumbling now." Margot replied and ended up biting her bottom lip nervously.
"Nonsense, love, you could have kept talking." He smiled at her to try and make her feel more comfortable. Luckily it seemed to work. "I know what you're talking about though...I know that feeling. It's an extraordinary feeling actually, especially in front of a live audience. To be able to feel the room's energy and hear their responses too, it's something special to experience." He added with random hand gestures and fidgeting going on as spoke.
Suddenly Tom began to play a small tune on the keyboard which was unfamiliar to Margot, but it sounded beautiful anyway. In fact she couldn't help staring at his hands as they moved effortlessly across the keys, although as exquisite as his hands might be to her, she actually picked up what he was playing quite easily. Then after a couple more notes that Margot listened to intently, she placed one of her hands onto the other end of the keyboard and began to play along with him.
