Margot finally got back home at 12.18am the following day. She left her suitcase by the door and locked the door before she slumped her way upstairs passing her dad's old bedroom before reaching hers. She didn't bother turning on any of the lights as she wanted to sulk in the dark. Margot lay down on her stomach while burring her face into her pillow as the tears began to fall from her eyes. Now she was home however it made her feel better, inhaling the familiar scent of the house and the sense of security the walls around her gave. Within an hour Margot was fast asleep.
At 7:15am Margot woke up to the sound of the front door bell ringing frantically. Margot huffed rubbing her eyes and stumbled to her feet then made her way downstairs. She tripped up on her suitcase that she'd forgotten about by the door as she wasn't quite awake yet and didn't see it. Margot struggled with the key in the lock for a moment then opened the door to Peyton dressed in a white button down shirt, grey trousers and black patent shoes.
"Margot you look like hell!" Peyton wrapped Margot in his arms tightly after seeing her smudged makeup, messy bed hair and her disheveled clothing.
"Well you would be too if your date got turn upside down" Margot pulled away and let him in. They didn't speak until they were in the kitchen. Margot pulled out a stool at the breakfast bar and sat on it with her head in her hands.
"I suspected as much after you said you were coming home and you didn't answer any of my other messages" Peyton filled the kettle as he spoke and then put it on.
"Sorry, I just needed time to myself after I got off the plane. I didn't sleep until I got home" Margot eventually lifted her head and watched Peyton make them some coffee.
"It's okay, I understand. Soooo....was he bad in bed or something?" Petyon tried to make her smile but it didn't work. He soon placed the black coffee with one sugar in front of Margot.
"We didn't quite get that far" Margot half smiled in thanks taking the cup in her hands while Peyton leaned on the counter top opposite her. "We had a great day we went to the Natural History Museum first, we had lunch at a little Italian place across the road, then we went to The Bard Graduate Center Gallery, then Central Park Zoo, then The Frick Collection afterwards we went for one too many drinks at the Tavern on the Green...it took me a while to remember what happened when we were there. We basically drank too much and before he could get another round of drinks I pulled his arm too hard and he fell on top of me in the booth, before I knew it I was....kissing him. We ended up getting escorted out. He got all hands-y during the cab ride admittedly I was enjoying it and kissing him, of course we got told off for it by the driver. God though in the lift..." Margot bit her lip just thinking back to that moment.
"Why what happened in the lift?" Peyton was soaking up all the details.
"I felt his erection against my thigh" Margot took a huge gulp of her coffee.
"Lord have mercy!" Peyton held his hand over his heart trying to picture what that would have felt like. "But?" he added taking a sip of his own coffee.
"Charlie caught us on the way to Tom's room which wasn't the worst part...turns out Tom is dating Zawe" Zawe's name hung in the air for a couple of minutes.
"Wow...so the rumours are true then?" Peyton placed his empty cup down.
"There's rumours going around already?!" Margot frowned.
"Yes" Peyton pulled out his phone bringing up the news pages. "Tom and Zawe have been spotted together a lot over the weekend" Margot took Peyton's phone scanning through a few of the different news reports. "None of the photos show them being romantic or anything but their outings increased" Peyton added.
