February Twentieth
"I don't think this is such a good idea, Hermione."
The girls looks back to Y/N as the two are walking down the corridor. "There's no harm in it. You'll be fine."
She shakes her head. "But this is Dumbledore. Our headmaster, one of the strongest wizards in the world."
"Exactly. If there is one person to talk to about it, then it's him."
"I don't know, maybe I'm just losing my mind."
Hermione stops her by grabbing the sides of her shoulders. "Y/N. You have experienced this 'sign' twice now. Moments so vivid that you can describe the things you see to a T. We're going to Dumbledore and you're going to tell him about this."
She pulls back a bit. "Maybe we should speak to McGonagall."
The girl rolls her eyes. "When did you become Neville."
Y/N gives her a looks and walks forward. "Okay, let's go."
She doesn't want to bug Dumbledore, but she knows it's the right thing to do. Normally, Y/N's one not to mess around or to be straight forward. But for some reason, she just finds herself questioning herself a bit more. After truly looking back at the times she's lost it on a person, she doesn't want to be seen as some hot-headed crazy person.
When the two of them walk up into Dumbledore's office, he's already sitting there at his desk.
"Miss Granger, Miss Sparks, how may I help you today?"
Y/N stands there for a second, but Hermione gives her kind of nudge forward. "Well, um.. I was wondering if I could speak to you, Professor. I know that you're busy with the Triwizard Tournament, so it's alright if not."
"Miss Sparks."
"Sorry."
He motions her towards the chair opposing his side of the desk. "It's alright, just sit down and explain what's brought you here.
She sits down at the desk and pulls the Legilimency book out of her bag. She sets it down on the table and pushes it towards him.
"I um, I was wondering if I could speak to you about the practice of Legilimency."
Dumbledore takes a look at the cover of the book. "Well this is a strong form of magical practice. May I ask why you are reading on and asking about this?"
Y/N nods. "Yes, of course. I bookmarked a page about halfway through the book. If you take a look at that page, then you'll kind of start to see why I brought this to you."
As the headmaster takes a minute to read through the bookmarked page, she looks back to Hermione. The girl's standing there and observing as the meeting plays out. Y/N finds herself looking around the office from the seat. She thinks that Dumbledore's a fascinating wizard and that he's keeping some interesting things there. For one, the headmaster has a completely blank globe. It's white and there's like a spike at the top of the stand. Also, he has a phoenix for a companion. Fawkes stands there on his podium, looking as majestic as the flames of a fire. Seeing as the bird does literally burst into flames, the color of his feathers are extremely fitting.
