Endless Winter

Senseless

There goes the sun,

In the clouds of the sea;

And here comes the night,

Coming after me.

Summer got colder,

All in one quick blink;

The winters are longer,

This ice never sinks.

You fall like the snow,

With no beauty, no grace;

Whitewash the color,

As if it's been erased.

And the wind, how it screams,

In darkness, in pain;

Howling around me,

Till breath is in vain.

Gasping, collapsing,

I claw at my heart;

For strength, for safety,

You tear it apart.

When you strike, I fall,

And you disappear;

I crawl to my feet,

Just as you reappear.

Again and again,

I hit the cold ground;

And pain all around me,

Burns with no sound.

How silent, my doubt,

My fury at you;

As you poison with lies,

All I knew to be true.

This winter of anger,

Of vengeance you rage;

For what? What crime?

What must I repay?

I'm exposed, yet hidden,

And still I'm betrayed;

By the monster I birthed,

And now can't escape.

I guess that's the crime,

A price I must pay;

You, you're the brand

I wear everyday.

Still, no one sees,

So how can it be shame?

It's something much worse,

It's what I became.

The wind has reversed,

The tide rose and changed;

A new day looks different,

The seasons deranged.

That's why your winter,

Remains endlessly;

And that's why my mind,

Turns relentlessly.

All falls senselessly.
