Chapter 22

Author's POV

Days past and both Hyunjae and Chanhee fall into a routine. Chanhee will go to his university. Hyunjae will go to work. Later he will tell Chanhee about what goes on in the company so that he would be aware of the things going on. It was going okay. And as for Hyunjae's family... They haven't talked with them except Juyeon who Chanhee met in the university.

Chanhee was excited. His course in the university was coming to an end and finally be would free. He would be able to help Hyunjae with his work as well.

"Baby I am home." A voice comes startling Chanhee was sitting in the dining table deep in his thoughts. He sees Hyunjae walk in looking around, a smile appearing on his face when he finally spots Chanhee.

"Welcome back hyung. How was your day?" Chanhee asked walking up towards the older male and pecking his lips. "Good. We are going to be receiving some college interns." Hyunjae says. Chanhee nods with a hum. "How was your class?" Hyunjae asked pulling Chanhee close. "It was okay. Our final exams are going to start and then we are done." Chanhee says.

Hyunjae grins at that. "So does that mean I can finally marry you?" He asked, a glint in his eyes. Chanhee smacks his chest. "Do you think I will marry you without you getting down on your knees and asking me to marry you? Nah keep dreaming." Chanhee says snorting pushing the older away.

"Okay princess whatever you want." Hyunjae says in a teasing tone. "You monkey. Go change your clothes and freshen up. Dinner has already been prepared. I will just heat it up then we can eat together." Chanhee says. Hyunjae salutes him. "Okay sir." He answers playfully as he walks off.

Hyunjae came back just after Chanhee was done heating up their dinner and plating them properly. "Come on I am hungry." Chanhee whines. "Why did you even wait for me? I told you I would be late love." Hyunjae says sitting down. "I know but I like eating with you." Chanhee says picking up his chopstick. They fall into silence as they started eating.

But the silence was broken when Chanhee spoke up. "Hyunjae do you plan to talk to your parents again?" He asked. Hyunjae stops eating setting his chopstick down. "Why the sudden question?" He asked.

Chanhee looks at him with a slight frown. "Just... I am glad that you choose me. Like I really am. But I hate this. You not talking to them and all. I just want you to be able to be with your family as well." Chanhee says. He was kind of rambling he knew it but he has been thinking about it a lot.

Hyunjae sighs. "Baby I do miss them. Especially mom. But you know how my dad is like." He says. "I know. But hyung can you try? For me?" Chanhee says looking at the older with a puppy face.

Hyunjae sighs again but with a smile. "Okay fine. The company is planning for an event. For it anniversary. A lot of people will be invited. Other CEOs and well known businessman. How about I invite dad as well?" Hyunjae suggest. Chanhee eagerly nods. "That's fine with me. Invite everyone. Sangyeon hyung and Juyeon and your mom. Not just your dad." He says.

Hyunjae nods with a gentle smile. "What ever you want baby. Continue eating now. I am eager to go to bed and cuddle you." Hyunjae says. Chanhee snickers and both of them continue eating.

After the dinner they went back to their room and got in the bed. Hyunjae wraps his arms around the young. "I love you." He says. Chanhee turns around, facing him. "I love you too hyung. Thank you for agreeing to inviting your dad and all." Chanhee says. "Anything you want love." Hyunjae says.

They laid there basking in each other's presence. "I am so glad I met you. You mak me feel so great. Always. You trust me. You believe in me and it makes me stronger. You have made me a great person baby. Finding you was like finding peace after a harsh storm. You are a miracle for me baby. A present." Hyunjae says.

He looks down at Chanhee when the younger doesn't say anything only to find Chanhee with his eyes closed. His breath calm and steady. The younger had fallen asleep. He must have been tired. With a kiss on the younger's forehead Hyunjae finally relaxes closing his eyes. Everything was so peaceful and so right. And he couldn't ask for anything more than this.

When the day of the anniversary event came, Hyunjae was nervous. He looks at the mirror trying to get his tie right but ended up tangling it around in messy manner. "Baby turn around." Chanhee says coming behind him. Hyunjae does as asked, turning around facing Chanhee.

The younger chuckles looking at the tie. He fixes it smoothly and pats Hyunjae's chest. "Don't be too nervous hyungie. Everything is going to be fine." He says. "I know. It is just that there is going to be lots of cameras. And so much attention from many people." Hyunjae answers.

"I get it. But we are going to be together and it is going to be fine." Chanhee assures. Hyunjae nods breathing out. He looks at Chanhee and smiles. "You look great baby." He says as he leans down slightly to kiss the younger's lips. "I know right. I am dressed to impress." Chanhee says with a smug smile making Hyunjae crack up.

"Impress who? Me?" He teases. "Oh no no. I need to find a husband who will marry me-" Chanhee says but gets cut off when the older suddenly pulls him close by his waist. "Let's not start that here hmm. Or else I might want to prove who you belong to and if I do that we are going to be very late for the event." Hyunjae says, a warning in his tone.

But Chanhee just looks at him smugly. "I wouldn't have minded that." He says. Hyunjae shakes his head. "You are such a brat." He says letting the younger male go. "Well whose?" Chanhee says sticking his tongue out. "Mine thankfully. I plan to make you my brat. Forever." Hyunjae says with a wink.

Chanhee makes a face at that. "You can be such a sap." He says. Hyunjae rolls his eyes at that. "Whatever you say. Now come on let's go." He says. Chanhee nods looking at himself in the mirror one last time. Both of them went outside where a driver was waiting for them with a car already. They got inside and the driver started the engine, heading towards the venue where the anniversary event will be taking place. Both of them hoping everything would go smoothly.

I wanted to update last week but oh my god our state had an internet ban. It was such a mess istg! Like it was so darn hard without internet 😶

Anygay I hope you liked this chapter 🥺 I haven't been writing much with all the exams and all. I have finally graduated but even now I am still preparing to give entrance test to get into another university 😭😭
