"The letter got lost somewhere in the mail..."

30th August, 1993

The next morning, Y/N woke up and shot out of her covers and sat straight up, 'cause for a minute, she got extremely confused about where she was. Then she recalled all the events that had happened the night before. "It still doesn't make any sense as to how I'm here. But it doesn't change the fact that all this is BLOODY AMAZING!", she squealed in excitement.

She got out of bed and thought of taking a bath. But then she remembered that she doesn't have any clothes. "If only I had more time to pack, I WOULD'VE BROUGHT MY BEST OUTFITS FOR THIS!", she cried while talking to herself. At that moment, a knock came from outside the door of her guest room. She opened it but couldn't see anyone. Suddenly, something pulled her near her legs... She looked down and saw a house elf looking at her. She has never seen one of those before. Her eyes widened as the house elf handed her a suitcase and walked away. There was a note on top of the suitcase ~

Dear Y/N,

These are some of the clothes that I could find which might fit you... These belonged to my late sister, Ariana... I think you already know who she is. If you wish not to wear these clothes, you may return them. I have given you the key to my own Gringotts vault which is attached to the letter. You can visit it with Hagrid and withdraw as much amount as you like and buy yourself new clothes. He will be here to pick you up in an hour near the great hall.

PS: I've told all the other professors and staff members of your arrival. so you are now free to roam the corridors, but not after the curfew ;)

Albus Dumbledore

Y/N smiled as she read the letter and almost felt her eyes tear up. The fact that Dumbledore considered her worthy of telling her about his sister meant that he trusted her, which was a very big deal in itself (because he never even trusted Harry enough to tell him about Ariana) Ofcourse she was going to wear those clothes. She carefully folded the letter and picked out one of the dresses from the suitcase and went to take shower.

She came out after 20 minutes or so, and brushed her hair. As soon as she was done getting ready, she practically ran outside her room towards the great hall. She was so excited that it didn't even bother her that she stumbled almost 5 times and could possibly fall at any moment. The only thing that mattered was, she was in the same world as Harry 'freaking' Potter. Nothing was more important than that.

It was the holidays before the beginning of session, so the school was almost empty. On her way to the hall, she saw Filch staring at her in absolute disgust "Hey Mr. Filch... How you doin' ?", she waved at him in an amusingly mocking way, trying to imitate Joey Tribbiani. which increased the disgust on Filch's face even more, if that was possible.

Then she stopped by the great hall. The Great Hall was a large hall with four long tables where students of each House sat during the day and at mealtimes. The staff table was at the front, where the entire Hogwarts staff sat. There was a throne-like chair in the center of the table where the current Headmaster or Headmistress sat. In front of the hall, she saw a half-giant with shaggy hair and a wild, tangled beard.. He was even more big than what she thought he would be like... She stood there for a moment and stared at him with complete 'awe'.

"Er– Yeh must be Y/N... Am Hagrid. Nice ter meet yeh..", Hagrid put forward his hand and Y/N shook it eagerly with a wide grin. "Nice to meet you, Hagrid!", she said.
