"I love you, 'Mione!"
"What's the next class?", Harry asked as the quartet was walking in the corridor.
"Oh, it's DADA..", Y/N replied.
"What's dada?" Ron asked, in confusion.
"Not dada, Ronald. It's D-A-D-A, which means Defense against the Dark Arts.", Y/N said in an an't-it-obvious tone, and glared at Ron.
"You and your weird slangs...", Harry chuckled and shook his head in amusement.
"My slangs are not weird!", she gasped dramatically and put her hand over her heart, mimicking an offended look.
The quartet broke into laughter, and soon they reached the DADA classroom. Y/N spotted Oliver Wood, in the corridors, coming towards them. She waved at him with a smile. He waved back cheerily.
"Um-- hey guys, I need to talk to Oli... You guys go in.", she said, turning to her three friends. Hermione and Ron nodded and went inside the classroom.
"Oli? Who's Oli?", Harry squinted his eye at her.
"Oli– ver—Wood— Your Quidditch Captain?"
"Since when did Y/N call Oliver 'Oli'... What a stupid nickname.." Harry thought to himself, and looked at Oliver disapprovingly.
"Okay I'll see you in a bit.", she patted Harry's arm gently and turned to walk towards Oliver, who greeted her with a big grin on his face.
'When did they get so close?'
'Why was he feeling this weird irritation towards Oliver? It has never happened before.'
'Was he jealous? But why would he be jealous...? Y/N was just his friend. Best friend perhaps. But that was it. . . . . . wasn't it?'
'Why was he jealous for his best friend? It didn't make any sense.'
These were the thoughts that were going on in Harry's mind. He scoffed at the sight of the two of them talking and laughing with each other, and went inside the classroom.
Professor Lupin wasn't there when they arrived in his first Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson.
They all sat down, took out their books, quills, and parchment, amd were talking when he finally entered the room. Professor Lupin smiled vaguely and placed his briefcase on the teacher's desk.
"Good afternoon," he said. "Would you please put away all your books back in your bags. Today will be a practical lesson. You will need only your wands."
At that moment, Y/N entered the classroom, and everyone turned their attention to her. (~Awkward) Hermione rolled her eyes. "Umm— sorry I'm late, Professor.", she said nervously with an embarrassed look on her face.
"Oh, not a problem. We are just starting now. Please take your seat, Y/N.", he smiled at her kindly. She nodded and moved across the room and sat beside Harry.
"What are we doing?", she leaned closer to him and asked him softly.
"Oh– uh– it's going to be a practical lesson. He told us to keep our wands only." Harry told her. She nodded.
"Right then.", said Professor Lupin when everyone was ready. "If you'd follow me."
The class followed Professor Lupin out of the classroom. He led them along the deserted corridor and around the corner. He led them down a second corridor and stopped, right outside the staffroom door.
"Inside, please.", He said, opening the door and standing back.
The staffroom was empty except, for one teacher. Professor Snape was sitting in a low armchair, and he looked around as the class filled in. His eyes were narrowed and there was a sneer playing around his mouth. He got to his feet and strode past the class, his black robes billowing behind him.
