Peter had been trying to talk to Raven for a few days now, but with no luck. Once more he began to only see her for missions or training, before she would disappear to her room. He kept trying to get her to let him in, but continued to get no response. Not being able to talk to her stung a bit each time. He wanted nothing more than to apologize to her; reassure her that it was just an accident. A part of him began to wonder if she had somehow made her room sound proof. He wondered if maybe it was for the best, but he couldn't help but feel a sting. He liked Raven a lot, but he never wanted to make her life more difficult. He moped into the kitchen one afternoon as the other Titans lounged in the living room. He didn't look at them as he went into the fridge to find something to eat. Robin immediately noticed him enter the room. The boy wonder had grown increasingly suspicious of Peter, even more so now that all of a sudden he was seeing a lot less of Raven. The timing of that, along with Peter's saddened appearance was too obvious to ignore.
"Hey." Robin said, causing Peter to peek slightly from behind the refrigerator door. "We were all gonna go to the fair this evening. You wanna go? It'll be fun." He said encouragingly.
"Um..." Peter stared off in thought. He wasn't exactly in the mood for excitement, but perhaps it would help to get out of the tower for once. Peter shrugged. "I guess so... yeah. Thanks, Robin."
"Sure thing." He said, patting Peter on the shoulder.
Robin paused for a moment, before noticing the other Titans within earshot and decided to leave it alone for now.
After finishing lunch, Peter went to his room and changed into his uniform before jumping out his window and swinging into the city. It had been a while since he just swung around to clear his head, but it did feel nice.
He kept thinking about his ultimate mission. Scolding himself, as he hadn't paid as much attention to it as he could have. He needed to get home, to keep his promise to his other friends. A part of him still felt as if he was shirking his responsibilities. Though another part of him felt like he had nothing to go back to.. He felt terrible about having feelings for another girl. To him it kind of felt like he was cheating on MJ, even though she didn't remember him. He remembered her reaction to knowing she would forget about him, and that stung a lot. However, his feelings for Raven lingered and the image of her face and her ever rare smile kept popping up in his head and he couldn't help but smile under his mask as he swung between the buildings. Why was he so focused on love anyway? Surely there were far more important things for him to be focusing on. However, his efforts to look past his feelings often caused him to think about her even more. He longed for her company, not just because he liked her, but because she was the best friend he had made in this new world. Without her, he would have still been lost, a shell of the person he once was. It was thanks to Raven that he was able to regain control of his Spider sense, and he even found himself having less nightmares the more he spent time with her.
Simply being her friend was enough for Peter.
After a few hours of swinging, he finally headed back to to tower and got ready for the fair. He noticed that the tower was empty, with only a note sitting on the dining room table. Peter took it in his hand and read it. 'Peter. Gone to the fair. Well meet you there. -Robin.'
He nodded and left the tower and swung toward the fair grounds beaming over the night city skyline. He reached his destination, making sure to discretely land where nobody could see him. After buying his ticket in he walked through the bright, noisy crowds past booth after booth. He wasn't sure what he was doing there, instead planning on relying on Beastboy or Cyborg to come up with all the fun. Really, Peter was just happy to get out with his friends for once. Finally, he found the Titans surrounding Beastboy and Cyborg competitively playing one of the fair games. It was one of the few times he saw the Titans in regular street clothes and honestly it looked good on them.
