~ The glass building in Ukraine ~
________________
When Desmond returned to the glass building, he was livid with anger. Cydtin stopped possessing him the moment he came in through the entrance, discouraged with the way things turned out. He was standing in the living room and facing the window with a cup of coffee.
Desmond stormed into the living room and knocked Cydtin's coffee cup out of his hand, the coffee splashing all over the hardwood floor. Cydtin sighed and said, "After you clean that up, you will bring me another cup of coffee."
"Screw you and your coffee!" Desmond yelled loudly, glaring at him.
Cydtin leveled his eyes at Desmond, his mental control overtaking his angered resistance.
Compelled by Cydtin, unable to resist Cydtin's mind control making him do everything he said, Desmond grabbed a kitchen towel and wiped the mess on the floor.
"You're never gonna win, Cydtin," Desmond said heatedly, his voice like spewing hot lava. "You can control us all you want, but you're gonna fall, and you're gonna fall hard off your high and mighty horse."
"Your American British expressions are in need of some updating," Cydtin told him, his voice level and calm despite Desmond's anger. "We ride planes, not horses anymore."
"You understood me regardless." Desmond returned to the kitchen to make another cup of coffee for Cydtin as he requested. He wanted nothing more than to grab him by the throat and choke him, but he was forced to obey.
Cydtin sighed again and turned away from the window, saying telepathically to all the glass building inhabitants, I think we all need a coffee break. Head to the kitchen if you want coffee. Otherwise, continue to stay inside the glass building.
Cydtin took the coffee cup from Desmond, ignoring his fierce scowl. He thanked him and headed for Demian's room, feeling defeated. He had been so confident that he would overpower Valerie, just to see his confidence snatched away with one telekinetic strike. The surety was gone, and with it any hope of ever overpowering her. Valerie truly is the most powerful irangel, Cydtin thought, sighing for the third time.
About half an hour later, Cydtin looked up to see Yennisse enter the room. The late evening sky was gleaming gold and purple, trying to peer through the window blinds, flashing directly on Yennisse. The sunlight striped her in gold, accentuating her radiant form. Her wavy brown hair fell over her shoulders, over her cream sweater and purple pants.
Yennisse is the embodiment of sunshine, Cydtin thought, appreciating the way the sunlight wrapped itself around her, drawn to her warm hearted kindness and compassion. He briefly wondered whether she was capable of light manipulation, since the sunlight eagerly beamed through the striped window blinds, enveloping the irangel in warm sunshine, the same warmth Yennisse emitted.
His musing was interrupted when Yennisse set her coffee cup down on his nightstand. Cydtin didn't move when Yennisse sat beside him on the bed. If Yennisse was sunlight, Cydtin was the ice that the sunlight was trying to melt. He felt her thoughts appeal to him, but he was rigid, not wanting to encourage her. He waited for Yennisse to speak, suppressing the urge to sigh a fourth time.
"It's not too late, Cydtin. I know you can do the right thing," Yennisse began, slowly moving her hand towards Cydtin, who abruptly rose from the bed, standing to the side with his arms crossed, refusing her touch.
Before Yennisse could verbally convey her literany of thoughts, Cydtin sharply scolded, "Why do you keep hoping when deep inside you know I'll only crush your hope? I know your every thought, Yennisse. I am not the person you think I am. If you want to know me, then you should know why I act the way I do."
