Chapter 16: [Naomi/Hideo/Kohaku/Hiroshi]

After Hayate and Reina disappeared, I looked at Mitsuo who's already looking at me. He is smiling but his eyes has sadness in it, like it is reflecting mine.

I walked towards him, tears falling off of my eyes. I saw Hiro beside him, and even not showing it, his eyes are saying that he is also feeling the heavy atmosphere.

When I finally arrived in front of Mitsuo, I immediately hugged him. Burying my face on his chest amd sobbed. I felt his hand carresing my back.

"V-vince, I'm scared." I said between my sobs.

"Shh, it's okay." He said that just made me cry more.

I have mixed feelings. Safety in his arms and pain because I have to let go of him again.

"1 knock means I'm here, 2 means you are safe and 3 means you have to calm down." Mitsuo whispered, and I remembered that day in Shima when he also told me those words.

"C-can we just stay with you?" I asked as I sob.

I heard him chuckle, "No, you have to let go of me."

I hugged him even tighter. I felt Hiro behind me, Mitsuo hugged him also.

"Protect your mom for me, Nathan." He whispered.

"I-i will, Dad." Hiro's voice cracked that broke my heart.

"D-don't leave us again, please." Hiro said as he broke down and cried while hugging his father.

Mitsuo looked at our eyes. It is full of sadness and happiness at the same time.

"You don't know how happy I am when I learned that you're having our son. And how happy I am to be a father. Even though I don't exactly know how to be a father. All I know is I need to be beside the two of you, but I can't do that always. All I know is to kill, I don't know how to protect." Tears started to fill his eyes.

"Even I want to, I can't stay beside you. But I know that I'll always be in your heart and mind. Don't forget about me, and I'll always be with you." His statement woke me up in reality.

I just have to cherish the time that Hiroshi gave us to be with our loved ones. And today, we need to let go of them again.

"We will never forget you," I said as I burst into tears again.

He hugged me and Nathan again, as the two of us cries in the arms of the man that we longed to have beside us. The man that I wish is still here with us.

"You have to go now. Your time is running out." Mitsuo walked backwards a bit and let go of us from his embrace.

Hiro hugged me from the side and looked at his Dad.

"I promise to not forget you, and to protect mom. I-i'm happy to meet you." He said as tears flowed out of his eyes.

Mitsuo ruffled Hiro's hair, "I will count on that, Child."

Mitsuo stepped forward and his right hand held my left cheek. Hiro backed down a bit to give us some space.

My tears won't stop and my heart is beating painfully.

"Always know that, I love you Nathalie." Mitsuo whispered and cupped my face.

My heart felt at ease, my tears stopped as I felt his soft lips on mine. If I can stop the time, I will. Just to cherish this moment. I want to be with him, but I have to accept the truth that he's not with us anymore.

Mitsuo already let go of my lips, but he put his forehead on mine.

"I love you Nathalie and Nathan." He said.
