chapter 4 - seeing someone else

Y/N's POV

I stood in front of my hotel room dresser, putting on my best makeup and outfit to see him. It's been two weeks and I've missed him so much, I'm so excited!

I left my room and teleported to the city of Mondstadt, making my way over to the Knights of Favonius headquarters. I knocked on his office door and he greeted me with a smile. 

"Kaeya!" I yelled as I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him. 

"Hey beautiful, how've you been?" he asked me, kissing my cheek, causing blush to appear on my face. 

"I've been good, I've been working on the Khaenri'ah case, we should talk more about that in private later." I whisper the last bit so that any nearby knights don't get any information. 

He nods. "Come in, sit with me."

I agree and sit on his couch while he locks the door behind me. 

"So, you want to know a bit more about Khaenri'ah?" he asked me, cupping my face with his soft hands. 

I nod, our faces getting closer together. His eyes flickered from mine to my lips. 

"I'll tell you later" he whispered against my lips before finally closing the gap between us. I kiss him back slowly. 

The kiss was sweet and short. Our lips part and Kaeya smiles at me. 

"Is that a yes?" he asks, referring to the girlfriend question he asked me 3 weeks ago, leaning in closer again. 

"Yes now shut up and kiss me." I mutter as I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him. 

This kiss was a lot more passionate but it didn't last long, I didn't want to lead to any sexual stuff just yet. This feels wrong. I'm not meant to be here, am I?

Kazuha's POV

Here I am, sat on Monika's couch, her on my lap kissing at my neck, her shirt removed. It feels wrong, like I'm not meant to be doing this with her. Maybe she isn't the one. I feel more disgust towards her than I do love, if there is any love there at all, I wouldn't think so knowing Y/N exists. 

As if an archon heard me, my phone started ringing, I saw the contact name. It's Y/N! 

"I'm sorry baby, I have to take this." I say, the nickname rolling off my tongue tasting bitter and disgusting. I kiss her cheek and she climbs off of my lap. 

I accept the call and leave the room to the bathroom, buttoning up my shirt again and wiping off the lipstick marks that Monika left on me. 

"Hello Y/N, you called at a bad time, what do you need?" I say, hoping she picks up on the sarcasm when I said bad. 

"Yeah, my bad, traveller's back in Mondstadt for a bit and heard that you're here, they need to see us or something. I'm really pissed about the timing too." she muttered. No sign of sarcasm, she must really love that other guy or whatever. Who cares about him. 

"Fine, I'll be there in a minute, whatever, I assume we're meeting at the Barbatos statue?" I ask, fixing up my hair in the mirror. God I don't like Monika at all. 

"Yeah, great to see you too." she replied sarcastically, the annoyed tone and attitude going straight down to my- nevermind. 

I hung up with a scoff and left the bathroom. 

"I'm sorry love, the traveller is in Mondstadt and requested to see me, I assume I wont be back for a little while if this is an expedition, I love you." those last few words that left my mouth were a huge lie. I hate this girl with all of my being. I just need someone to mess with while Y/N's in love with that knight or whoever he is. 

Monika sighs before flashing me a grin and pecking me on the lips. She nods and unlocks her door. I wave her a goodbye before I leave. 

Y/N's POV

Fucking lovely, I get to talk with Kaeya for the first time in 2 weeks and I'm now being called for by traveller. It's fine, I'll get to see Kazuha. My heart flutters at the thought of him. I've never felt that way about Kaeya though? I'm sure it'll go away. 

I leave the headquarters and start walking up to the Barbatos statue. 

Sure enough, traveller is there with Mona, Kazuha and two other people I'm unfamiliar with. I only know Mona because Kaeya was kind enough to introduce me to her when he introduced me to Albedo. They both have helped me immensely on my cases though so I won't complain or slander either of their names. 

I catch up to the group and wave. I'm not sure what this is about but I have a feeling we might be going somewhere for a little while. I might enjoy this.
