chapter 10 - love and liars

Y/N's POV

It took me and Kazuha 2 days to get back to Mondstadt. Mainly because we spent most of the journey apologising to each other over the incident but to be honest, neither of us really cared about it anymore. 

We're currently walking up to the knights headquarters, so that I can apologise to Kaeya for worrying him and to collect my files, I need to head to Inazuma to talk with Ryuuji and Sango about a new case, once again, filed against Arataki Itto. 

Soon enough, we're both at the headquarters. The guards immediately let us in, knowing who we are and we make our way over to Kaeya's office. 

I knock on the door and wait for him to open it. Doesn't take him long to do so. 

"Y/N! You're alright!" he pulls me into a tight hug. 

"Kaeya, I'm fine, can you please let go of me?" I cough, unable to breathe because of how tight he's hugging me. 

He quickly apologises and lets go of me, giving me chance to catch my breath. Kazuha crosses his arms and coughs, reminding us that he's there too. 

"We need to talk Kaeya." I say with a blank expression, noticing his face start to panic. 

"U-Uh yeah sure, we can't go in my room though, there's a giant bug in there!" 

Is it just me or is this man really bad at lying? 

"Why are you in there then?" My eyebrow raised as I put my hand on my hip. 

"Kae, what's taking you so lo- oh.." a woman's voice said. 

I know that voice. Rosaria. 

"Oh so you have a girl over, that's why you're not letting me in?" I laugh, trying my best to mask my anger. 

"Me and Rosaria are just really close friends! I swear!" he panics, Rosaria comes into view from behind him. 

"Oh really? Why is she in your shirt and why does she have a hickey on her neck?" fuck it, I can't mask my anger. 

"Y/N, I swear, I was going to tell you about this!" his face is covered in sweat by now and he's practically on his knees begging for forgiveness. 

"That's enough Captain. We're just here for Y/N's files and we'll leave. I also assume that she's dumping you, yes Y/N?" Kazuha interrupts, unfolding his arms and secretly grabbing my hand as a form of comfort. 

I nod, barging past Kaeya, walking to his desk to collect my files. 

"Hi Rosa, fancy seeing you here, I always thought dating the person you cheated on me with was a bad idea but hope you two are happy together. Kaeya, you won't be seeing me anymore unless we have a meeting with Albedo, Mona or Jean. Fuck you, farewell." the words came out of my mouth with no effort. 

Kazuha chuckles as I link my arm in his, leaving the headquarters with him. 

As soon as we got out of the door, I snapped. I felt so many emotions. Sadness, anger, annoyed. 

"Y/N, I'm sorry about him, there will be other people that'll treat you better, I promise." Kazuha spoke up after about 2 minutes of silence, releasing my arm and wrapping it around my waist as we walked, squeezing, kind of like a sideways hug. 

"Kazuha.." I whisper before flashing him a weak smile, "I realised something back there. I wasn't mad because I really loved him, I was mad because I couldn't trust him. I don't love him as anything more than a friend. We weren't meant to date." 

Kazuha looks into my eyes before nodding. He releases my waist from his grasp and intertwines our hands together. 

I can't tell if he's trying to make a move or not this soon but I'm not complaining. 

We leave the gates of Mondstadt and begin our long walk back to the Crux ship.

It took us only a day to get to the ship but it wasn't leaving until tomorrow and so me and Kazuha had free time to spend in Liyue. Considering I'd just broke up with my boyfriend, he decided that he'd try his best to make my day by spoiling me in gifts, affection and my favourite things. 

He took me to all of his favourite shops, bought me whatever gifts I even looked at, if I mentioned something that could be bought, he'd go and get it for me. 

It was an amazing day. I forgot all about Kaeya and Rosaria. 

Now, we're sat in our shared room in the Crux ship, we both agreed it was best to sleep here. 

"Hey Kazuha" 

His eyes move from his phone and he looks towards my direction. 

"Why do you spend so much on me? Like, I get that we're really close but today you spent so much money on me and you spend at least 6 days a week with me, I just want to know why you put in so much effort for me. I'm not worth it." I ask, sighing. I'm not worth all of his effort. 

He gets up from his bed and kneels to my level, cupping my face and leaning closer to me. 

"Y/N, you are everything I need in life. You're the only person on earth I'd spend my life savings for, you're perfect and I love you. Whether you take this as a love confession or not is up to you but I mean everything I say in any context, platonic or romantic." he smiled. 

His eyes drifted down to my lips as mine did to his. 

I wrap my fingers in his hair and plant a kiss on his lips. He kisses back immediately. The kiss only lasts for a few seconds before we pull apart. He smiles and pulls me closer again, pecking my lips a few times. 

"Y/N, I've wanted to do that ever since I met you, I'm madly in love with you. Every time you've dated someone other than me, I've been incredibly jealous of them. I want you to myself. I know that you just broke up with your boyfriend and I'm sorry that this is happening the day after but I can't lie to myself or you anymore." he whispered against my lips, still cupping my face. 

I smiled before bringing him back in for another kiss which he gladly accepted. 

Yeah, I wasn't meant to be with anyone but him. I love him.

HELLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOO, finally finished this chapter, took a while. I apologise about Kaeya cheating, feels overused tbh but it fit so I used it anyway. ALSO WOOO FIRST KISS WITH KAZUHA! Well first few, anyway, hope you enjoyed!
