chapter 9 - separated from him

Y/N's POV

Kazuha left 3 days ago. Will he come back? What do I do without him? Should I have snapped at him? Oh I'm a horrible person. 

I break down into tears on Kaeya's shoulder again, awarding me with his comforting shushes and kisses being peppered across my face. 

"He'll come back Y/N, I'm sure of it." Kaeya whispered before pulling me into a tight hug. 

Kazuha's POV

I decided to go see how Beidou is doing. I didn't want to be completely alone right now, I'm not feeling great about everything that happened over the last few days. 

"Heya kiddo! Where's Y/N? You two usually follow each other around like lost puppies!" Beidou yells between sips of her beverage. 

"We argued and I left her alone with her boyfriend." I say bluntly, throwing my stuff into our personal room on the Crux Ship. 

"Woah woah wait, she has a boyfriend? I thought she was still dating that Rosaria chick?" she asks, putting her drink down on a crate. 

"No, Beidou, they broke up months ago, she's been seeing the Cavalry Captain lately and they made it official a few weeks ago." I said, sighing as I sat down on the bed. 

Beidou entered the room behind me, closing the door and sitting on the bed opposite mine. 

"Are you alright kiddo? I know that you and Y/N never really had anything romantic going on officially but I could always sense a tension between you two, hell, it was the same kind of tension that me and Ningguang have!" 

I smile at her words. 

"Kazuha?" 

The use of my actual name forces my eyes to look into hers. 

"She'll come to her senses, I promise you." Beidou smiled. 

I nodded as she stood up, putting her hand out. 

"Let's have a drink, aye?" 

Why not? 

I grab her hand and we leave the room.

I don't remember much from last night, apparently I was blacked out after I drank several of the ships alcohol crates. 

Surprised I didn't get alcohol poisoning to be honest. What did I get? The worst hangover on earth. I've been throwing up into the sea every 10-20 minutes and we haven't even set sail anywhere yet! 

Wait..

Y/N needs to go back to the Detective Agency soon.. Soon being next week.

Shit.

I'm not ready to face her though.. But who am I to not allow her to go to her job? But does she really work there because she needs to? No, she has all the money she could ever want..

Whatever, she'll show up if she wants to.

Fuck, why does my mind always lead to her? 

"Hey kiddo, you feeling alright? You drank 4 crates of alcohol last night, you must've REALLY went through some shit with Y/N!" a concerned Beidou brought me back to reality. 

I nodded, wiping my mouth with the back of my sleeve. 

Oh, my phone, it's ringing? 

Beidou looked at me and I looked at her, neither of us knowing who would possibly be calling me at 7 in the morning, most people aren't even awake unless they have work. 

Oh, it's Monika. Why did I hope it was Y/N? NO. STOP THINKING ABOUT HER. 

I accept the call and press the phone up to my ear. 

"Hello?" I answer, puzzled. 

"Hey, uh, I noticed that you're not with Y/N, not that it's any of my business but are things alright with her?" Monika replied, her tone sounding genuinely concerned. 

"We just had a small fight, that's all, is she alright?" I ask, worrying that my actions may have affected her more than I intended for them to.

"She's been wandering around not just the city of Mondstadt but the entire nation asking people if they've seen you! I won't ask what happened between you two but she risked her relationship and her investigations for you, or that's what I've heard!" she explains.

"Wait wait what?! She did what?! What do you mean risked her relationship and investigations?!" 

Did she really do that? JUST for me?

"Captain Kaeya didn't want her to go looking for you across the nation because it's dangerous but she went looking anyway and he has all of her investigation work apparently! She's worried sick, when she came to my door I told her I didn't know anything but I wish her the best, the poor girl looked so nervous that she was going to faint!" she yelled at me. 

"Shit, thank you, I've got to go." I say before hanging up. 

Shit shit shit shit shit, where's her number....

There! Found it! 

I called her phone, praying for her to pick up. It rings once.. Twice.. 

"KAZUHA! WHERE ARE YOU? I'VE BEEN LOOKING EVERYWHERE! I'M SORRY ABOUT EVERYTHING, I NEVER MEANT TO UPSET YOU EITHER, I WAS JUST SO HURT BY WHAT YOU SAID THAT I MADE THE SAME MISTAKE AS YOU AND I'M SO SOR-" 

"Hush Y/N" I cut her off, "I've heard everything, I'm sorry I ran off like that, I'm at the Crux ship. Please meet me here as soon as you can." 

She agrees.

Not even 30 minutes pass by before I see a silhouette of a woman boarding the ship with haste. 

"Beidou! Is Kazuha here?" I hear her yell. 

It's Y/N! She actually came! 

I run over to the place she's located, my head pounding because of my nerves and my hangover. 

She sees me and we just stare at each other. Neither of us say a word or do anything. 

I decide that because neither of us have done anything yet, I'd take the lead. I grab her wrist and drag her into the shared bedroom we have, closing the door behind us and sitting her on the bed. 

She just looks up at me before smiling, tears rushing down her face. I kneel down to her level and give her a warm hug. It doesn't take her long to hug me back. 

"Don't ever fucking run from me again, you hear me?" she whispers, pinching my ear. 

I nod into her shoulder. 

She feels like home.

i absolutely love writing this fanfic, somehow it's only been 2 days since i started working on it, thank you to everyone who's read it so far! hope you enjoyed this chapter, i'm trying to finish this book as soon as i can because i have loads of motivation and ideas for it! 

idk if there are any mistakes in this, i wrote it yesterday at 4am and havent reread it or edited it yet
