chapter 5 - a vacation with him

Y/N's POV

So, I'm now at the archipelago again, stuck here for at least a month with Kazuha, a girl I now know as Fischl, a rockstar named Xinyan, who for the record, is very pretty, Mona and traveller. 

This doesn't seem as bad as it I thought it'd be. I'll just have to call Kaeya and tell him that I won't be able to see him for a month. He was here with me last year too so he'll know where I am. 

I hit dial on his contact and wait for him to pick up. 

"Hey doll, did you need something?" Kaeya asked in his usual flirtatious tone. 

"I'm at the archipelago again, I don't think I'll be back for a month so I'm just telling you that I won't be back for a while, hope that the knights don't overload you with work, if you meet with albedo at any point, tell him everything we discussed. I have to go now, goodbye!" I say, almost eager to hang up for some reason as I see Kazuha walking my way. 

"Alright, I'll tell him everything when I see him tomorrow, bye doll, have fun" I can hear him smirking. 

I hang up and put my phone back in my pocket. Kazuha stops in front of me and smiles. 

"Was that your boyfriend?" the disgust in his voice when he says boyfriend is very evident. 

"Yes Kazuha, why? Jealous?" I tease, winking at him. He just rolls his eyes. 

"Are you alright? You seem off" I ask him. 

"Yeah Y/N, I'm fine, I just don't like the fact that I'm not your boyfriend." he muttered the last part. 

"What was that? Do you have a muttering problem because you mutter so much stuff to me all the time and I barely ever catch it." puzzled by him, I walk closer and look him in the eyes. 

Wrapping my arms around him, the beach is silent, the others have gone exploring and it's just me and him on the island. I hug him tight and he just accepts it, wrapping his arms around my waist. 

I swear I just heard a small cry. 

"What's wrong? There's something wrong, whenever I hug you, you either hug me back so tight I can't breathe or kiss my forehead and laugh but you did neither of those" I mumble into his shoulder. 

He just stands there, not saying anything. I accept his silence and just let him stay there. 

"I'm sorry Y/N, life's just been hard recently." Kazuha finally whispers. 

"I'm sorry Kazuha, if I can do anything to help, I will." I reply softly. 

"Look Y/N, I love you but I don't think there's much you can do that you'd be willing to do. Maybe in future." he says, parting from the hug. 

I look at him, confused but nod. 

We decide to explore the islands like everyone else did. We went over to Pudding Isle and explored. A Bonsai plant? What's this for? 

It happened so fast I don't even remember how we got here but suddenly, all of us are stuck inside of a mirage.

It seems to be part of Kazuha's past, the mirage shows us images of him in the past. 

He wanted to help with the clan at such a young age, I can only imagine his childhood. It's never really been brought up in conversation so I just assumed he had a normal childhood. 

When we had explored the mirage fully, Kazuha seemed more upset than he was when we were alone on the island. 

"Kazuha.." Paimon whimpered, her voice coated in empathy. 

"Everyone, please do not worry about me, I am fine, what I want to know is how we got there?" he wonders. 

I point to the Bonsai plant. 

Everyone seems to agree with me. 

"Wait so, if Kazuha has a mirage, does that mean that you guys will have one too?" Paimon asks, gesturing to Xinyan, Fischl and Mona. 

"I suppose so." mumbles Mona. 

"Let's give it some time, they may take a while to show up, I mean, they take us to another dimension and we don't know where they're from, how they got here or what they're here for and how they know who we are." Traveller interrupts, the group agreeing. 

"Alright, we should go back to the first island we were on and set up camp there, we can make food and settle down for the night, it's getting late anyway" Xinyan suggests, laughing when someone's stomach rumbles. 

We make the way back to the original island and Xinyan cooks us some food. Everyone parts ways except me and Kazuha. 

He leads me to the back of the island where we spoke earlier before sitting down with his legs spread, allowing me to sit between them. I rest my head on his chest and sigh. 

Shit. Am I allowed to do this? I mean, now that I'm dating Kaeya, there are more boundaries but it's only a friendship, right? Kaeya's like this with Rosaria all the time too so it's fine, or that's what I'm guessing. 

It's fine. Totally fine. Me and Kazuha are just friends, I'm just sat with him, it's fine. 

Kazuha closes his eyes and wraps his arms around my waist while resting his chin on my head. 

I smile and close my eyes. This vacation might be better than being with Kaeya.

BUT ANYWAY, I'M NOT TELLING ANY EVENT STORIES CORRECTLY COS MY MEMORY IS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL, BUT APART FROM THAT, HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS CHAPTER!
