Thanksgiving break was coming up and you were getting ready for one of the football games. You stood in the bathroom in front of the mirror trying to perfect your high ponytail.

You then clipped the orange bow into your hair and let out a satisfied sigh. You then straightened out your skirt before walking out of the bathroom.

You grabbed your duffel bag and bid Kate farewell in which she responded, "I'll see you at the game, idiot." Which made you chuckle before closing the door and making your way down the stairs with a huff.

Stairs still weren't your favorite thing to go down, but it's whatever. If only the university could invest in an elevator for the older buildings.

When you made it to the stadium, you met up with your girls. Wanda was your only real friend on the team so you just stuck by her side the whole time the team was practicing their chants and performance.

You peaked out to the field, and spotted your boyfriend tossing the ball to Bucky. You loved how close they were, their friendship reminded you of yours and Kate's.

You smiled to yourself before being pulled out of your trance. "L/n! Come on, it's time to practice the dance." The tall blonde said.

You had the dance down since the second day of practice so it was like a piece of cake for you. Your friend, on the other hand, was messing up quite a bit. Enough to where Carol cut her out of the performance.

Wanda shook her head with a grimace and you looked at her apologetically, mouthing a 'sorry' she waved it off and mouthed a 'thank you' in return.

Then, it was time to head out to the sidelines. You were second in the row of girls, watching the game standing with your pom poms behind your back like the rest of them.

You did a high kick and cheered, shaking them in the air when your team scored.

You all started shouting the chants, with smiling faces. During half time you went up to the stands to find Kate and Yelena. They were sitting with Natasha and some other girl you didn't recognize.

"Hey guys!" You exclaimed, pulling all of them besides the mystery girl into a hug. "Who's this?" You questioned with furrowed eyebrows.

"Hi I'm Hope, one of Natasha's friends. We're on the soccer team together." She introduced herself.

"Aw cool!" You said.

"I'm Y/n L/n." You introduced yourself, putting your hand out and she shook it.

"Y/n, you might wanna go see your boyfriend over there, he's had his eyes on you this whole time and I think he's upset we're snatching you up." Yelena chuckled.

You made your way down the stairs and ran into Steve's arms.

"Hey sweetheart." He said, kissing the top of your head.

"Hey. You were great out there." You said, and booped his nose.

He shook his head with an amused smile before speaking again,

"Thanks. Say, uh me and Buck were thinking of grabbing something to eat after the game, maybe you and your girlfriends would like to come along?"

"Sure! I'd love that. And I'm sure they'd love that too, especially Natasha." You smirked.

"Yeah, apparently they've been on one date and he's already feeling like he screwed it up somehow."

"Well Natasha hasn't shut up about him since that date so tell him not to worry too much."

Then it was time for you and your team to put on a show. You ran out to the field and the music started blasting as you guys danced.

Cheers erupted from the crowd when the choreography ended, making you smile. You loved it when the crowd would cheer at your dance recitals.

The game went on, and unfortunately your university didn't win this time but it was still a pretty good game. Your team came in rather close.

You noticed how Steve always beat himself up about it every time he lost a game. You would make sure to comfort him afterwards.

After the game came to an official end, you all met up at Chili's to hang out and have drinks. You sat between Steve and Kate, Natasha sat between Bucky and Yelena at the bar. It was a happy medium.

You were all laughing at something Bucky said before your phone started to ring. "I gotta take this." You said, pecking Steve's cheek before getting up and walking outside to answer the call.

"Hi honey." Your mom's sweetly manipulative voice came through the speaker.

"Oh, uh hi mom." You said awkwardly. Knowing you hadn't been calling her as often as she wanted.

"Why haven't you've been calling me?" She asked.

You sighed, running a hand through your hair.

"Things have just been pretty busy mom. I met new friends, got on the cheer team and have a..." you hesitated before saying the last part.

"Boyfriend." You finished.

You could almost see the disappointment on her face.

"Y/n you know we talked about how I don't want you to have a boyfriend. They're a distraction."

"Well mom, I'm 22 now so I don't need your permission to do anything."

"Yet who's the one who's financially dependent on me?"

"You made it like that, though. Not allowing me to get a job."

"Dump this boy and focus on your studies. As a matter of fact, quit the cheer team too. This year I want you focusing on your studies only. No friends, no relationships, no extra curriculars, just homework. Do I make myself clear?"

Anger rushed over you. No, you were not going to let your mom micromanage your life anymore.

"No." You said simply.

"Fine then, you're cut off." And with that, she hung up.

You scoffed before harshly slipping your phone back in the pocket of your jeans.

"Hey Y/n, everything okay?" You turned around to see your boyfriend walking towards you with a concerned look on his face.

"No. I told my mom I wasn't going to do what she asked and she cut me off." You sighed.

He put his arm around you to comfort you.

"So now I probably won't be able to live in the dorms anymore and pay off student loans."

"You could live with me," he suggested and you looked up at him with wide eyes.

"I know it's a little too early in our relationship to move in together, yet again we had sex before we were a thing so I don't it's too far fetched." Steve explained.

"Okay. Yeah. That'll work. I hope I won't be a burden to you." You gave in.

Steve scoffed, "Are you kidding me? You? A burden? Doll, I would love to come home to you everyday."

And with that he pulled you into a sweet passionate kiss.
