"You—what?" Narcissa's eyes flashes between the girl and the boy in front of her.

Elise's hands shook out of nerves, Draco noticed and, still holding her hand drew comforting circles, showing her—or trying to show her how calm he was.

But on the inside, he was squirmish and scared of his mother's reaction, and his fathers to the news as well in Azkaban.

"Mother it was an assignment, and we got paired together." Draco explains squeezing Elise's hand, she shudders.

This is all going to quickly for Elise, she wanted to hit pause and translate everything that just happened. In the last hour, she got engaged to Draco Malfoy. No, no, absolutely not.

She thought she fell for him but this was just a reminder that he was still the same jerk from all those years. He was using her as the bad guy in this situation and saying it was an assignment, he tried to comfort her as if they weren't enemies, even though they were and always will be, she didn't know what she was thinking about when she thought she fell for this boy, this self-centred boy.

She took her hand from his and intertwined her own hands over and over again, her fingers going ghost white, and sore.

"They can't force you to do anything Draco," Narcissa said, the expression on her face saying she was waiting for reality to crash in.

"Their reasonings are quite a big effect mother, you can talk to them."

"Nonsense, I want to hear it from you." Narcissa focused on Draco more clearly, waiting.

Elise rose from her seat, catching everybody's attention. "This seems personal. I'll excuse myself and leave you two alone." She bowed her head and went to leave, but was caught by the wrist firmly.

She turned to Narcissa who had a firm grasp on her. Elise caught Narcissa's eyes, stern and almost scared.

"This is your matter as well, stay, please." The please caught Elise's attention and she sat down in surprise, and also fright.

"Mother they will explain everything I cannot." Draco's eyes went from Narcissa to Elise over and over and over again.

Elise sat with her eyes trained on the table, her hands scratched and twisted with each other.

"Very well, Draco, I will. It seems your—fianceé, needs you right now." Narcissa watched Elise fidgeting for a moment as they stood from her chair, causing Elise to jump.

Elise gasped and noticed everyone's eyes on her, she turned pink under there stares. "Excuse me," she managed to speak out and quickly walked to the room she had slept in the night before.
