Jiriya's Last Student (Naruto Fanfic)

CHAPTER FOUR

A/n I'm fucking terrible at fight scenes and I'm trying to create my own chunnin exams so bare with me guys please😭 (Masuragi's outfit above)

"Welcome to the chunnin exams, brats!" A, the Yondaime Raikage, shouts, "The first part of the exam is the survival portion! You have two days to complete this round. Killing and maiming aloud, as long as you have a red and blue flag by the end of this round!" He says sternly. A chunnin proctor shoves a flag at Masuragi's chest making her scowl deeply.

Kumo still hates Konoha.

Masuragi starts to feel uneasy as she notices a lot of genin looking at her. They were underestimating her. She was a one man squad and they thought she'd be an easy target. As soon as they were told to go, Masuragi took of at mid-chunnin speed. She knew most of the genin here were probably seasoned and she needed to get further away from the others, at least until she came up with a plan. Masuragi sighs softly, "Man, doing this exam solo is such a drag. If only Metal and Kamikaze were here." Metal Lee and Kamikaze Lee were the twins of Rock Lee and TenTen (A/n no, no more Boruto characters are gonna be in here because I haven't seen it yet😭)

Kamikaze was a rather tall 10 year old who had long, brown hair and wore a black mesh crop top like shirt, black baggy ninja joggers and shinobi sandals with a katana strapped to his back. His girlfriend was a girl a year older than him in the academy. Metal Lee was a lot like Rock Lee in so many ways. He was a bit more mature than Rock, but he looked exactly like him. Those two had been her best friends since they were little (a/n Masu is 13) and she was happy to know that they were rooting for her back home.

Masuragi sat down and laid her head against a rock, expanding her senses, Quickest way to get a flag is to ambush, but even still, I don't want to charge in blindly. I'm easily high anbu in speed due to Guy-jiji so, if need be, I can run. Masuragi subconsciously touches her gravity seals, That still leaves me with the flag dilemma. I could set up traps but that's such a drag. I can't show my full power until the finals, at least that's what Tou-san says. Man, ambush it is. She mentally groans when she feels the presence of a team at least two miles from her.

Time skip

Masuragi smiles brightly as she looked down at the unconscious team, "Not bad for a tree hugger." She taunts before taking their blue flag and darting off to the direction of the end point, Can't wait for the finals. But, that red head girl... and the yellow haired boy, they're strong. I can tell, I will NOT engage them before the finals Masuragi shudders slightly, Though that red hair girl is so pretty. Masuragi's face flushed at the thought of the slightly taller girl.

Before Masuragi could get any further, she was stopped by an Iwa team, "Well well, if it isn't the single leaf scum." A dark skin girl with yellow eyes wearing a standard shinobi outfits says. Masuragi sneers, "Man, pick on somebody your own size!" she snaps. These genin had to have been eating trees when they were little. A guy with green hair slicked back into a ponytail and a Iwa headband wrapped around his arm scoffs, "Shut up." He says, dashing towards Masuragi.

The purple haired girl quickly fell into the Uchiha Interceptor stance. The Fouth Raikage furrowed his eyebrows through the big screen, "A Hyuuga not using Gentle Fist, but the Uchiha Interceptor? Blasphemy..." He mutters. Fox hums, "She was trained under Uchiha Sasuke so her taking on his stance is not unlikely. She looks like she relies on brute force and... well, interception. She's not head strong because she's doing real well wit strategy going up against people twice her size..." He mumbles, observing Masuragi as she got knocked over and quickly caught herself with both hands before twisting her body around to avoid a lethal hit. Almost as if she was break dancing,

"Seems like she's combining different katas to create a rather unique one, with the Uchiha Intercept being like a sort of her main stance, like she knows it a little more. Anybody who knows the Uchiha fighting style would probably go up against her, thinking they have her beat, but in reality, she has more tricks up her sleeve... kind of like a Joker." Gaara mutters lowly. The Fourth Raikage hums, "I can't wait to see how she'll do in the 1v1, especially against your brat, Naruto. Gaara..." Fox and Gaara nodded, "Katsujima needs a good challenge. And I can tell Little Joker has more up her sleeve than what she's showing." Gaara mutters as they watch the petite girl body slam the last big boned boy,

Masuragi huffs, clutching her bleeding arm. Unbeknownst to Masuragi, Katsujima was watching her from the trees, "Sis, let's take her out now." Rajin was about to jump down but Katsujima held her hand up, "No." She says sternly. Rajin scowls, "Why?! We can get rid of this leaf scum once and for all and destroy any hope Konoha has." Katsujima stares the blonde hair boy down making him flinch, "Are you questioning my authority, Rajin?" She asks harshly, "She lives. She's going to make it to the finals. I will fight her." Katsujima states, a hint of finality in her voice before jumping down.

Masuragi instantly went on guard, noticing the red hair girl from earlier. Even if she was walking up without any weapons.

Fox grits his teeth through his mask, "What is Katsujima doing?!" His whisper yells harshly, gripping his cloak. Katsujima gently grabs Masuragi's injured arm and started healing it with medical jutsu. Masuragi loosens up a bit, sneaking quick glances up at the silent girl, "U-Um, thank you..." Masuragi stutters out quietly. Katsujima makes eye contact with Masuragi. They stayed like this for a while.

Gaara furrows her eyebrows, "I see..." He mumbles, catching the two other male's attention, "Watch."

Katsujima takes the extra blue flag Masuragi captured, "You can thank me by surviving to fight me in the finals." She says in an emotionless voice, getting in the purple haired girl's face. Masuragi's eyes widened. She flashed a playful smirk, "I should be telling you the same thing." Masuragi says. Katsujima hums, "You're strong. I can tell you're not at your full power. Don't piss me off or I just might kill you." She says lowly before jumping back up to her team.

The Fourth smirks, "That's quite a brat you got there. Healing an enemy just to fight her later?" He states. Fox nods, "She's something."
