CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Katsujima stared at Masuragi's heartbeat monitor, frowning slightly, "Katsujima-chan, you've been here for two days, we need to head back to the sand." Fox says softly. Katsujima doesn't respond, she just stared at the monitor, closing her eyes at the sound of Masuragi's leveled out breathing, "Masu-chan is smart, while she fought with the Gates, she had a steady flow of medical chakra going through her body not to cause too much damage." Fox reassures.

Rajin nods, "Believe me, I'm worried for her too, but we can't stay here too long." Katsujima looks up at Rajin and Fox. Fox's eyes softened at Katsujima's expression while Rajin's eyes widened, "Twin..." He murmurs. Katsujima looked... as close to sad as she could muster. Fox smiles sadly, "You're going to see her again, don't be sad, Katsu. This is the first time I've ever seen you like this." He says.

Katsujima stands up and sighs before going back to her regular resting face, "Let's go." She mutters, walking towards the room door. Rajin and Fox make eye contact before nodding and walking away.

A few hours later, Masuragi opens her eyes. She groans a little and sits up. Just as she does, she felts a hard hit on her head, "OW!" She yelps, "Masuragi Uchiha Hyuuga, using the Inner Gates was reckless, what were you thinking?!" Sasuke shouts angrily, "You had me and your mother worried sick about you! I don't know what Gai was thinking teaching you that, he's so reckless, why out of all the things would he-" Sasuke gets cut off by Masuragi hugging him.

Sasuke sighs and hugs his daughter back, "You had me worried, Masu. Don't scare me like that again." He mutters. Masuragi nods, "I'm sorry, Tou-chan." Sasuke chuckles at the affectionate name, "You know I hate that." He jokes as Hinata comes into the room, "Masu..." She starts.

Masuragi groans, "I already got the lecture from Tou-chan, I don't want to hear it again, pleaseee?" Sasuke sneers at the name before shaking his head. Hinata giggles, "I guess I'll spare you. Your Tou-chan always has a way of doing lectures." She teases. Sasuke smirks and laughs a little, "I don't think I'm that harsh, am I Masu?"

Masuragi looks a way and starts whistling making Hinata giggle, "Speaking of harsh, Katsujima was here." She says. Masuragi blinks, "Sh-She was?" She asks, blushing slightly. Sasuke raises an eyebrow, "You like her?" He asks making Masuragi's whole face burn a bright red, "Tou-chan!" She whines.

Hinata giggles and shakes her head, "Good taste." She says, "But, yeah, she had been here for two days, she just left. Fox said she never left your side." Masuragi's eyes softened, "Really?" She asks quietly. Sasuke nodded, "Yeah, we would be here and she wouldn't budge. She started falling asleep multiple times. Fox would pop in every now and then and put balloons by your bed and Gaara-san would brings little stuffed bears." He says.

Masuragi grins, "Where are they now?" She asks. Hinata smiles sadly, "They left to head back to the Sand." She says softly. Masuragi's grin faded, "Oh... well, that's okay! I'm going to see Katsu again, when we're chunnin!" She exclaims. Hinata and Sasuke looked at each other,

Kakashi sat beside Sasuke and Hinata in silence. It was comfortable, but they knew their sensei wanted to talk about something, "Masuragi." Kakashi started. Hinata looked up, "What about her?" She asked. Kakashi pulled his mask down and smiled brightly, "She's something else, isn't she?" He asked. Sasuke hummed, "She is, Kakashi-sensei." He said quietly.

Kakashi nodded, "I'm recommending her for Jonin." Hinata and Sasuke sucked in a heavy breath, "W-Wait, you can't just do that! She doesn't have experience, she hasn't even had her first kill, she's not ready!" Sasuke surprisingly stuttered out. Kakashi laughed a little, "Sasuke, in due time. For now, I'm recommending her for special Jonin. Typically for those who excel greatly in one specific type of skill or fighting, but in Masu's case, because she doesn't have enough experience." He said softly,

"She will do missions with teams, some she will lead, some she won't. And, when the time comes, she will enter the official Jonin Exams, being held back home. Or, she can opt out, either way, she's still going to become a Jonin. From then, she can choose to train or take on a team after 2 years of missions." Kakashi finished, "I'm not telling you this to ask for your blessings, I'm telling you this because you two were my pupils and you know what it's like out in that world. Preserve Masu's innocence. I don't want her to get corrupted too soon." And just like that, Kakashi disappeared.

Hinata felt herself getting emotional while Sasuke frowns. After this week, the Masuragi they know might change.
