"I can feel him, and he's angry." Will explained to the group who were sitting in Hopper's cabin that had been partially repaired.
"We have to kill him, for real this time." Lucas said, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Even if we do, we can't be sure that it'll close down the Upside down, who knows what'll happen if we kill him." Mike shared his point of view, the others agreeing.
"I agree, but it'll be easier to understand everything knowing that Vecna is dead, like Lucas said, for real." Dustin shared, "We need a plan. And a really good one."
"Kill Vecna. I say that's a pretty good plan." Steve jokes, hands on his hips. Typical mom pose.
"That was our old plan, and we all know how that... turned out." Robin said, voice trailing as she glanced at Dustin.
Steve tensed his jaw,
"Like Mike said, how do we know killing Vecna won't just open up a whole new caliber of problems?""We don't, Steve, we're running blind in this race." Nancy groaned, placing two fingers on the bridge of her nose.
"What if we just kill all those little bats that you were telling us about, its a Hive mind, right?" Mike suggested,
"Oh, yes, why dont we go into the Upside down and kill every single one of those 'little' bats because its just that simple." Dustin rolled his eyes, "There are millions of those bats, even if we brought all of us we'd never kill them all. Plus, it would make Vecna more mad if we ever did succeed."
"Sorry, I was just improvising.."
"Well, we need to do more than improvise here, all our lives are at stake, and let me tell you, I will not watch another one of my friends die right infront of me or I swear to-" Dustin began, tears pricking at his eyes as he felt Will's hand on his shoulder.
"We should take a breather.." Steve said softly, helping Dustin outside. They stood quietly on the porch before Dustin dove into Steve's arms.
"I miss him so much, Steve. Why are none of you acting like he died? He died! In my arms!" He cried, his voice raspy and loud.
Steve started to break down now as well, tears spilling down his red cheeks.
"I'm sorry, Henderson, I am. I was just trying to hold it together for the team.. We all are.""How do I live with the fact that I could've saved him, but wasn't strong enough?" He sobbed,
"I'll be here for you, we can get through this together.."
They made their way back inside, the group looking more cheerful than before,
"We've thought of something," El glanced at Mike and he nodded for reassurance.
"We're not sure if it'll work though.." Will smiled,
"The Upside down is a Hive mind, right? So, we draw the bats over somehow. We were thinking something massive, like setting fire to the forest." Nancy explained, "But at the same time, we have another group going to Vecna's lair-"
"I dont know.. That's basically a copy of what we did last time.." Steve interjected.
"But it'd be more thorough, more thought out. Instead of assuming Vecna is dead, we'll dismantle him completely, until there's nothing left." Will said, pain in his voice, like he had been longing for the day that this would happen.
"That's... a gruesome way to put it, but, yes." Robin agreed.
"I don't want to risk losing anybody else, it's a dangerous task."
"We have more players this time, and El's here with us now." Lucas said.
"Yes, I want to help." Eleven smiled softly, "I want to kill him properly this time. For Max."
"For Eddie."
