"Yeah" the brunette walked to the bed removing her shoes, slipping into the space behind Maya, she scooted a little close to her, wrapping her arms around the blonde as she caressed her tummy. It became a thing Maya loved whenever they would cuddled.

They laid down in silence for a while. Carina wasn't sure if Maya was asleep so she stopped her movements wondering what the blonde would do."Why'd you stop" maya said in a hoarse voice, like she lost it from screaming or something. She grabbed Carina's hand and placed it back on her tummy as the brunette continued to rub it.
"Sorry, i thought you fell asleep" Carina said bluntly.
"Whats wrong?" Maya asked, noticing something off with Carina.
"Really Maya...you lied. You kept telling me you were fine when you obviously aren't. Then you didn't even tell me you were back in the hospital. Would you have told me if Victoria didn't already?" Carina kept her tone at a minimum.
"No." The blonde simply said.
"Wow okay..atleast you're being honest." Carina scoffed.
"Youre the one who ignored me for a the entire day Carina. I didnt want to bother you anymore than I already had" Maya told her, scooting foward so that her body wouldn't touch Carina's anymore. Maya sometimes struggled with things like that. If she felt she was bothering someone too much she'd just leave it alone. Same with her dad, he made her feel like she was bothering him and annoying him so she just stopped talking to him and now he's running back trying to fix things. The exact samething with her mother, the woman would be out all day and not make anytime for Maya, so they slowly drifted apart and now they're gaining that bond back.
So when Carina 'ignored' Maya. It made the girl feel as if she was being a burden and that's the last thing she wanted. The more you constantly 'annoy' people, that person eventually gets tired of your nonsense and leave. Maya didn't want that either. So whenever she's not okay, she's not relying on someone to be there, not even her own mother, not anymore.
"Maya i didn't ignore you, not on purpose. I was just busy, I hadn't checked my phone yet" Carina said to her.
"Yeah and if i had told you that I was in the hospital screaming in pain, having to get held down by doctors like a wild dog, you wouldn't have saw that message either, so it really doesn't matter." Maya spat.
"So you're mad at me-"
"I am not mad I just don't want to bother someone who clearly doesn't want to be bothered" Maya shrugged.
"You weren't bothering me I just hadn't gotten the chance to check my phone, how many times do I have to say that?" Carina was not getting annoyed.
"When we decided to give us a try, to me that meant I'd take whatever second out of the day to text you, even if I'm busy, I'll still check up on you, to see if you're doing well. Why? Because you now matter to me. I might have important things to deal with but you're important to me too. Thats what this meant to me. But if whatever I'm feeling for you is one sided, just let me know. I don't want to waste my time on someone who doesn't care... you call the shots in this thing that were in and you know it." Maya sniffled as she wiped tears from her face.
Carina wrapped her arms around Maya gently pulling her close. "I'm sorry I made you feel like that, i didn't mean to. This is not one sided, it's just all new to me, you're experienced but I don't know anything and I'm figuring this out as we go. You're never a burden to me and I don't want you to feel as if you can't tell me anything."
Maya slowly turned around in Carina's arms, seeing her face again for what felt like forever. She leaned in to press a kiss on Carina's lips as the brunette reciprocated it. Carina ran her thumb across Maya's bottom lip.
