She was going home. With no family. All alone.

A couple of days went by maya was finally cleared to go back to school. Carina had been blowing her phone up over the past days but Maya ignored her. Maya got dressed, she put on a black hoodie and a black pair of joggers along with some green converse. She brushed out her hair and put it into a low ponytail. She honestly did not care today. Soon she headed to school. She was a little early than usual so she decided to to head to the office to give them her doctors excuse.

Once she was done with that, she requested to see the counselor and was directed to her office.

"Hello, what can I do for you?" The woman typed into her laptop before giving Maya her full attention.

"Um i applied for JROTC a couple days ago I just wanted to see how that was doing" Maya asked.

"Sure thing I'll check it out , have a seat." The woman searched on her laptop for about 3 minutes. "looks like you've been approved ...but this will be your first year, correct?"

"Uhh yes maam" Maya nodded.

"Well its a four course and youre a senior so it's your last year but what I can do is put in extra training for you and that'll make up for it."

"Thanks" Maya thanked.

"Ok so your schedule is changed, jrotc is now apart of it..um a couple of classes have been changed to different periods but you still have the same lunch." The woman said giving maya the paper. "Youre leaders will give you a uniform, is there anything else I can help with?"

"No, thanks for this though" Maya said leaving the room, heading to class.

She looked at her schedule seeing that she only had one class period with carina, which was chemistry the last class  and then lunch.

The first few class periods went by quickly, soon lunch came about. She didnt go in the cafeteria, she went out to walk around a bit. Her phone had been vibrating none stop so she put it on airplane mode, dnd, then powered it off.

She went to her car and chilled in it, you'll think people had forgotten about the incident but nope, everyone just stared at her, she put her hood over her head and leaned into her seat a bit.

Soon lunch was over so she headed into the building to her next class which was jrotc. It was pretty decent, they gave her, her uniform to wear on Monday's , a ocean blue shirt with navy blue pants and a pair of black proper shoes also a navy blue jacket.

They learned about military stuff and fitness, maya found it all to be interesting, before she knew it the class period was over and she had to face what she had been avoiding all day, chemistry with Carina.

She went to class and sat in her seat, she pulled out her laptop and started on her assignment, soon carina came in, and sat next to her.

"I've been texting you all day" Carina told Maya but Maya's eyes were still trained on her laptop. "why weren't you in class earlier?" She then asked but Maya ignored her, Carina went to grab her hand but maya instantly pulled it away.

"Stop, you knew this wasn't what you wanted but you still led me on.. you where the one who wanted to give this thing a try, i wouldve been fine to sit back and let the feelings slowly go by, and now I have to deal with someone who can't make up there mind or someone who is too scared to tell daddy and mommy-... I literally cannot with you." Maya said in the lowest tone she could possibly go to as she typed her essay.

"I-im not confused, i just-" Carina tried to speak, but she couldn't form a proper sentence.

"You what carina? Huh? Admit it, I was just your little experiment, I shouldve seen it coming but you know what?" She looked over at carina as the brunette had tears in her eyes. "Its not your fault, it's all on me right" Maya turned back to her laptop, she didn't say anything but she noticed carina was wearing the necklace.
