Veronica opened her eyes and sighed. A week had passed and while she was starting to finally feel better physically, today was off. Something just felt off to her. She got out of bed and smiled when she saw the girls were still sleeping. She took the opportunity to take a much needed shower.

"Your clothes are on your bed when you are done, Trouble," Gabe said as he came into the bathroom. "The girls just woke but we have them. Victor and Raven are feeding them, take your time."

"Okay, thank you," she called out then heard the door shut. She sighed and stood there under the hot water for a few minutes. As much as she enjoyed and appreciated them caring for her, it also messed with her mind and emotions at the same time. She really needed to figure things out so she wasn't feeling so conflicted and torn all the time. She needed to enjoy this time because she knew it would go by in a flash, but every time she tried her mind reminded her of all the heartache they caused her, causing her to worry when they would pull the rug out from under her again. Taking a deep breath to try and calm her nerves, she tilted her head back and sighed. She just needed to focus on work and save up so she could find a place for her and the girls. Once she got out of this place and away from the men, it would be easier to protect her heart from getting broken again. Yeah that was it, she just needed to get back on her own two feet and everything would work out the way it was supposed to.

She finished the shower and quickly got dressed. After running a quick comb through her hair, she carefully headed into the kitchen. "Here you go Beautiful," Marc said holding out a tumbler of her favorite coffee.

"Thank you," she murmured as she sat down. Just as she sat, the girls started crying. "I got them," she said as she sat her cup down and started to rise.

"We have them," Luke called out.

"Here, you need to eat," North said putting a plate of food in front of her. "Please."

Her phone pinged and Silas handed it to her, "thank you," she said after she took a bite out of the pancakes. He nodded and she looked at it. She froze in shock then shook her head and sat the phone back down on the table.

"Is everything okay?" Owen asked watching her closely.

"Huh?" She asked dazed then shook her head, "Yes, everything is fine." She went back to eating in silence then once she was done she rinsed off her plate and placed it in the dishwasher. "If the girls are fine then I will go look over everything for Uncle."

"They are fine, Princess," Victor nodded as he stood in the doorway.

"Very well," she nodded then walked past him and headed to her office. She sat at the desk and sighed. She had to move past this. She shook her head and powered on the computer. Turning on music, she opened Microsoft Office then opened the file that Uncle had sent her the day before.

"Wonder what upset her earlier," Marc said as he leaned against the kitchen counter.

"I don't know," Owen shook his head. "But whatever it is, it involved whatever was on her phone."

"So what are the plans for today?" Victor asked.

"North, Luke, and Gabe will be working at the diner, Sean has to be at the hospital," Marc said after thinking for a moment. "Owen will be at his office for a little bit. Nathan has a tournament but nothing after that. Silas, Raven, Brandon, and I have missions, but they shouldn't last very long. The rest will stay home to help her out with the girls. We should all be home for dinner."

"Very well," Axel nodded. "Do the girls have their check up today or tomorrow?"

"What is today?" Owen asked.

"The tenth," Gabe said as he finished wiping down the counter. "Fuck," He groaned in anger as he tossed the paper towel down.

"Shit," the men groaned when it dawned on them as well.

"Well, now we know what upset her," Axel shook his head.

Veronica sighed and placed her engagement ring back in the ring box then placed the ring back in the wall safe. She shut the wall paneling and wiped the tear that had reached her cheek. She never thought her wedding day would be like this. Instead of wearing her dream wedding dress and marrying her soulmates and planning their future, it was now just another day. She wiped her eyes and turned back to the desk. Picking up another piece of paper she glanced over it, then sat it down and began typing all the information into the computer again. Yeah, she sighed, it was just another day.
