I listened carefully as I heard the garage door open and the close again, breathing of sigh of relief knowing Brian was out of the house; if saw me before I left he'd really know something was up. I was wearing a purple dress with silver heels and a set of silver bangles that I could never sneak out of the house in, they were far to noisy. Not to mention this outfit really didn't match my alibi.

Tonight was the night Alex was taking me out to dinner, and I had to make sure I covered all of my tracks to avoid being caught. I had told Brian I was sleeping over at my friend Lucy's house, and I made sure to get Lucy in on it, incase he got paranoid and called or something. I had also packed enough stuff in my car that if the date went horribly wrong and I needed to flee to Lucy's I could. Though I really hoped that that wouldn't happen.

Once I was positive that Brian was out of the neighborhood I slipped outside and into my car to my drive myself to Alex's house. I was nervous, but a good kind of nervous, the excited kind of nervous. As I pulled into Alex's neighborhood I figured I should park on the side of street away from his house, just incase Brian passed by. When I was sure I had covered all of my bases, and there was no way I was getting caught, I stepped out of the car and began walking to Alex's house. I feared I looked crazy to all of his neighbors, but when I looked over my shoulder I was relieved to see that there was no one outside.

As I walked up the driveway Alex came out through the front door I almost forgot how to walk. He look good. I mean he was always good looking, but he looked really good. I willed myself to go forward as I admired his deep blue button down and freshly cut hair.

He must have been doing the same thing to me because when I reached him he froze, then said slowly, "Wow. Blaire, you look, gorgeous."

My cheeks turned bright red and I thanked him. "You look pretty good yourself," I giggled, touching the fabric of his shirt.

Alex stepped forward, placing his hands on my waist gingerly. "You're nervous," he said softly. "Don't let me make you nervous, I'm nothing to get nervous about."

I tried to do what he said, I really didn't want to be nervous about him; but there were still other things I was worried about. "I just - are you sure this is gonna work? What if we get caught?"

Alex pressed his forehead to mine, looking down at me. "Relax, we haven't even left yet. I've made sure nothing can possibly go wrong." He planted a soft kiss on my lips, and I felt the same sparks I had felt the week before. "Come on, let's go. This is gonna be fun." Alex opened my door and I stepped into his car. He stood there for a moment, "I don't hear any nagging, so that must mean there's no Brian."

I giggled as he came around to the other side of the car, turning the keys and making the engine rumble to life. The restaurant Alex had chosen was far away so the drive was long, but it was nice. Lacing the fingers of his right hand with those of my left, Alex began to hum along with the radio. I felt myself relax as I realized I no longer had to run from Alex. Of course, I had to run from Brian now, but I pushed that thought away for later.

Alex pulled into the parking of a restaurant I didn't recognize. "They're supposed to be really good," he explained.

I thought they looked like they were supposed to be really expensive, but Alex didn't seem to care. Taking my hand, he led me into 'Nola' where we were greeted with the soft sounds of classical music and candle lit tables. As our waiter lead us to a table in the back corner I tried to get a better look at the place and it was gorgeous. Every table had a perfectly white table cloth on it, and two tall white candles. The rest of the restaurant was illuminated with soft lights from magnificent chandeliers hanging from the ceiling.
