I woke up the next morning to Alex playing with my hair and singing sweetly. "Good morning sleeping beauty," he laughed. I smiled at him, rubbing my eyes and sitting up. "Do you want breakfast?"
"That would be lovely," I told him, as my stomach grumbled lightly.
"Come with me then," Alex said mischievously. Before I knew it he had lifted me up and thrown me over his shoulder. He carried me downstairs where he set me on the couch. "Stay put."
"Let me help you," I tried to stand up but he wouldn't let me.
"Nope, leave this to the master," he told me. "Stay put." I gave him an exaggerated pout but did what he had asked, and stayed on the couch. I watched as he opened various cabinets and drawers of the refrigerator, producing various pans, utensils and breakfast ingredients. In the midst of our sleeping he had lost his shirt, and never bothered to put it back on; so I let my eyes trail over the muscles of his back as he cracked eggs into a skillet. The kitchen began to fill with the smells of cheese and egg yolks as well as the sound of popping bacon mixed with Alex's voice, singing a made up song about breakfast. "I'm making eggs for Blaire, she is so beautiful..." he sang, giggling.
By the time the song was over Alex had lifted my ban from the kitchen, pulling out a chair for me at the table. I thanked him and sat down as he placed a glass of orange juice, and a plate containing a cheese omelet and crispy bacon in front me. Alex joined me at the table. "This is really good," I gushed; and it was. The bacon was cooked to perfection and there was just the right amount of cheese in the omelet.
"I'm glad you like it, I made it special, just for you," he winked.
When we had finished eating I told Alex I should probably start heading home, before Brian got suspicious. I changed into my own clothes, handing Alex's back to him. "Thanks again," I smiled, "This was great."
"I'm glad you liked it," Alex took my hand, giving it a squeeze.
"Just one thing," I smiled mischievously. "Next time, I get to make you breakfast."
Alex took a step closer to me. "Oh, so there's gonna be a next time?"
"Oh there's gonna be a next time," I smirked.
"Good to hear," Alex said, pressing his lips to mine. He kissed me slowly, but deeply, and I kissed back, anxious to create more heat. His hands grabbed my waist and he pulled my body to his. I bit the bottom of his lip and he let out a small noise.
As much as I wanted to continue, if we didn't stop now, we'd never stop. "I'm sorry, I have to go," I said, pulling away sheepishly.
"Don't get any cuter while I'm gone," he giggled. Alex gave me a soft kiss on the cheek and I headed out to my car.
When I got home I found Brian sitting on the couch, with his arm around the shoulder of some girl I'd never seen before. She was short - it actually looked like she might be shorter than Brian - with pin straight brown hair that was down to her shoulders. I recognized the shirt she was wearing as one from Brian's closet; and I knew that she had probably spent the night. I almost expressed how strange it was that both Brian and I had went on dates with someone for the first time last night and they spent the night with them; but then I remember that as far as Brian was concerned, I had spent last night at Lucy's house.
"Hey," Brian smiled when he saw me pass through the living room. "How was Lucy's?"
"Same old, same old," I chuckled. "A lot of eating and Nicolas Spark's movies. So," I said glancing at the girl who still hadn't acknowledged me. "Who's your friend?"
