Chapter 5

FLASHBACK

Akira was Shuyi's first love. They met in high school and were inseparable ever since. Shuyi's dreams and desires regarding future all revolved around Akira. They even decided the university they would go to after school and planned to live together. But gradually, Akira wanted more.

Akira met Yuuki in a club through mutual friends while he was still in a relationship with Shuyi. Yuuki was pretty, rich and easy going, Akira found himself quickly drawn to him and they started meeting without anyone else knowing. First it was just coffee dates and walks in the park, but soon they started to get physical. Yuuki would often buy expensive gifts for Akira which was something Shuyi could never do for him.

All this while, Shuyi was still in the dark and deeply in love with Akira that he never even thought of doubting him. It continued for months, however one ordinary day, Shuyi went to Akira's apartment to ask him out for lunch since Akira had been extremely busy lately because of which they barely met or went on dates.

He went to his floor and knocked on the door. No one answered. He waited for a couple of minutes but then he assumed Akira was in the shower, so he entered the lock password and let himself inside. He started walking around the apartment looking for Akira when he heard strange noises coming from his bedroom.

He opened the door and what he saw was something he had never imagined Akira would ever do to him. Akira was thrusting loudly inside a naked man who Shuyi did not recognise but for a moment, he felt his whole world crashing down.

Yuuki saw someone standing at the door which made him jump up and he quickly covered himself with a blanket.

What the fuckkk? Who is that?

This made Akira turn around and look at Shuyi's shocked face.

Shuyi......

Shuyi ran out of the room and quickly went to the elevator but Akira stopped him before he could get inside it.

Shuyi, wait. I can explain.

How will you explain what I just saw Akira. What is there to explain?

Shuyi shouted at the top of his lungs and hearing someone screaming, all of Akira's knowns and friends came out of their apartments to see what happened.

I fucking trusted you, all this time you said you were busy with some family stuff, and I trusted you blindly without a question. I loved you with everything I got when you were fucking someone behind my back, while you were still my boyfriend. You're an asshole and you can never love anyone except yourself.

Akira never wanted this to happen. He never wanted people to think of him as a playboy. He had always maintained an image of a respectable and honest person in front of other people but now he heard people around him gossiping and cursing at him which made Akira furious. He held Shuyi's hand and pushed him against the wall.

Shut your mouth Shuyi. We can talk privately. It's not a big deal that I slept with someone else, we're not married. Let us talk inside.

Shuyi felt his anger and frustration reach a limit and he slapped Akira's face with all the strength he had inside him.

Akira was stunned for a moment and stood frozen while Shuyi got into the elevator and left. Akira felt deeply embarrassed when he looked at the angry and disgusted faces of the people standing around him. He somehow managed to convince Yuuki to stay with him by making empty promises to use his dad's contacts to get admission in Chulalongkorn University.

Even though he never mentioned Shuyi's name in front of Yuuki after the incident, but the fire of vengeance kept blazing inside his heart. He wanted to embarrass and ruin Shuyi's reputation just like Shuyi did to him.
