Chapter 1

Shuyi was sitting in a cafe waiting for Shilei to finish his photoshoot in a nearby studio when an email popped up on his phone screen. It was from Chulalongkorn University congratulating him on being selected to study in the university.

Shuyi was so proud of himself however this happiness didn't last for long. In the last paragraph of the email it was mentioned that, "unfortunately due to some constructions on the university campus, we are unable to provide hostel facility to new students.''

Reading this line made Shuyi's face drop. He couldn't afford to live in a flat in Bangkok because he wasn't from a rich family. This only meant one thing. He will have to drop his plans for the University. While Shuyi was deep in his thoughts, Shilei came from behind and saw his phone screen which read " CONGRATULATIONS AND WELCOME TO CHULALONGKORN UNIVERSITY!''

Shilei was thrilled and hugged his brother from behind patting his head.

Congratulations Shuyi, I knew you'd make it!! Let's pick up mom and dad from home and celebrate this over a dinner!

It took him a while to realise that Shuyi wasn't smiling.

What's wrong? Why aren't you happy about it?

Shuyi looked at him with sad eyes and said,

There is nothing to celebrate. I won't be able to go to the University because they don't have hostels available and you know I can't live in costly private apartments in Bangkok. Forget it.

Ahhh! That's it? This is the reason for your puppy dog eyes? Don't worry your brother got a solution. I have a friend whose brother goes to the same university as well and will be your senior in Engineering. Luckily, he lives alone in a private flat. I can ask him if his brother could let you stay with him?

Shuyi's eyes suddenly brightened up.

Realllllyyyyy? Would he let me?
Wait, don't you know too much about your friend's brother? Who is this friend of yours that I don't know about?

Shelei was speechless for a moment, he couldn't tell Shuyi that of course he knew everything about his boyfriend's brother. Ignoring Shuyi's question, he called Yu Zhen to ask if he could help.

Hii baby, what's up?

Shelei's heart missed a beat, he thanked God that he didn't put his phone on speaker.

Yuzehn, I needed to ask a favour. It's for my brother.

Hearing his boyfriend take his full name so seriously, Yuzehn knew someone else was listening too.

Sure Shelei , what's it about?

My brother got selected to study in Chulalongkorn University, but they aren't providing hostels.

Before Shelei could finish what he was saying, Yuzehn interrupted,

Ohhh! That's great, and he can stay with Shide if he has trouble with the living situation.

Shuyi jumped off his chair in excitement, he thought his brother and Yuzehn must me really close friends since they understand each other so well.

Shelei smiled and thanked Yuzehn.

Thank you Yuzehn, however ask Shide first if he feels okay with it too.

Don't worry Shelei.

After disconnecting Shelei's call, Yuzehn FaceTimed Shide.

Heyy baby brother, have you been doing well?

Yes Hia (it means brother). You call me everyday and ask the same question.

Hahaha okay okay. Today I have to ask something else too. You have the guest room empty in your flat, don't you?

Yes Hia, I never use it, why?

Well my friend's brother is going to attend the same University as you from next week and I was wondering how would you feel about having a flatmate?

I have no problem if it's what you want Hia. I get bored alone anyway, I'll be nice to have company.

Alright then. Ah wait, his brother just texted me. Shuyi will be landing in Bangkok next Monday at 11 am. Can you pick him up at the airport? I don't want him to get lost in a new city.

Sure Hia. You really seem to care about him, is his brother a really close friend of yours?

um...sorta

Shide wanted to ask more but he was already late for his class so he just bid goodbye and disconnected the call.
