Chris POV:

Since yesterday afternoon, I have been constantly thinking about those wonderful eyes and those wonderful lips. I wanted to kiss her. I'm still waiting. I'm waiting for her to say that she likes me as much as I like her. This girl is untouchable. An angel who just became a part of my life overnight. Can't she sleep peacefully too? I felt more and more that I wanted to. Now. However, I didn't want to hurry, I didn't want her to think I was violent, so I waited.
The next day, when I went to work, I bought her favorite coffee again and headed for the make-up room, but she wasn't there. Her desk was empty.
- Good morning Sarah. - I thanked her.
- Good morning Chris. - Sarah smiled at me.
- Don't you know where Brooklyn is?
- She doesn't work today. Joe (director Joe Russo) said she had some family issues. - Sarah rolled her eyes.
- Family?
- I don't know if I understood correctly, but how does her family visit her? Although I don't understand why this is an obstacle for her to come to work, now all the work has fallen on my neck. - Sarah did herself.
- I understand. Umm...you can drink caramel coffee if you like. - I handed her the hot coffee.
- Thanks, but I hate caramel coffee. - she put it on the table.
- Oh, okay. Sorry, that's all I have. But now I'm going to change.
- Okay. - she smiled at me.
As I walked out the door and entered my dressing room, I immediately reached for my phone. I know that she doesn't have a good relationship with her family, and she also said that if the day comes when she finds herself face to face with them again, she doesn't know what to do.
I rang Brooklyn, who picked up after a few rings.
- Hi Brooklyn. - I thanked her.
- Hi Chris. Not very good now.
- Are you okay? - I asked, but it took some time before an answer came from the other side.
- Good. I'm nervous...
- I heard... Can I help you somehow? - I asked, as I could hear in her voice that she was terribly nervous.
- Can you remove me from the earth? - she asked with a smile.
- I can't do that... I need you. - I told her, without any thought, but I heard a small sound of laughter.
I made her smile. I was happy about that.
- I honestly don't want to hear how perfect their life is for them, unlike mine. I don't want them to play with my sister, who took it much more than I did. Who has a perfect job, had perfect boyfriends, who has a perfect look...who is perfection itself. I do not want..! But...what kind of person am I if my own family rejects me?
- It will only cost you one phone and I will save you.
- Talk to you later, okay? - she asked me, I could hear a little sadness in her voice.
- Okay.
- Bye Chris. - she said goodbye to me and hung up the phone.
She was on my mind during the whole shoot. So I couldn't concentrate. I was afraid it would hurt even more. So I left everything behind and went to her. However, she was not at home. Where can she? She then jumped in to tell me where they went as children, so my journey led there. As I parked and got out, I saw her from outside. Her family was facing her and she was upset. I saw him wringing her hands. I wanted to protect her. As I entered the restaurant, she was just getting up from the table, upset and facing me. I could see in her eyes that she was close to crying. I heard people whispering, they recognized me. But I wasn't interested for a moment because all my attention was tied to this broken angelic creature. I walked closer.
- How do you get here? - she asked with tears in her eyes.
- I came to you...to save you.
Brooklyn didn't say anything, but she didn't have to. I walked up to her and she buried her face in my chest crying. I hugged her tightly. I didn't want to let go. I wanted to hug her so she knows she's not alone, I'm here. - Everything is alright. - I whispered to her. - I'll protect you.
- Sorry! But who is the good god? - Brooklyn's father stood up nervously from the table. I looked at the man, then Brooklyn came out of the hug and looked at me with tears in her eyes. I wiped the tears from her eyes and then from her face. I smiled reassuringly.
- I'm her boyfriend. - I said to the man with sufficient determination.
Her family seemed shocked. But not only them, Brooklyn too. I put my arm around Brooklyn's waist and we both walked towards the table.
- Hello. I'm Chris Evans, Brooklyn's boyfriend. - I extended my hand to the man.
- Chris Evans? - asked the young girl. She must be her sister.
- Hi. You could be...Amanda, right? - I extended my hand to her. She nervously shook my hand. - You must be Brooklyn's mom. - I also shook her hand.
- Amanda, do you know this man? - Brooklyn's mom asked the young girl.
- He is a famous American actor. - the girl whispered to her parents, but her words were heard enough.
- Actor? - Brooklyn's mom asked.
- Yes. - Amanda told her parents.
- If they are not angry, I would take Brooklyn now. Our plane is taking off slowly...to London. I don't want us to miss it.
- Where to? - asked her sister.
- To London. I have work to do there right now, but I am honestly so in love with your daughter that I can't live without her for a minute. So I asked her to stay with me. - I answered the family with full acting professionalism. Brooklyn couldn't speak, maybe he didn't even know what was going on. She must have been under the shock of the previous conversations before I got here.
- It seems you don't have the most perfect match, Amanda. - Brooklyn's mom said softly to the young girl.
- But mom! - she looked at her with a piercing look.
- Well, if they forgive me. I'm sorry we couldn't get to know each other better. But just in case...next time. Come my dear. - I said to Brooklyn, who looked up at me. - Bye bye. - I thanked you.
Without waiting for them to say goodbye or for Brooklyn to say goodbye, I indicated the direction with my hand resting on Brooklyn's waist. And Brooklyn followed without a word. As we got into the car, I saw that she was deep in her thoughts, I didn't want to disturb her. So I waited to see if she would start communicating with me. I felt sorry for her. It broke my heart that I had to see her like this. I wanted to make her happy, but now I felt helpless.
