Brooklyn POV:

We had a good time, but it was getting late so Chris and Dodger headed home.
- Well, thank you for the hospitality and the delicious cake. We had a great time.  - said Chris and hearing them made me want to smile.
- I'm glad you came over, it's rare that Bailey plays so well with strange dogs. And it's been a long time since I had such a good conversation. - I smiled at the man.
- I would have liked to talk to you more. - Chris said.
- I'm with you too. - I blushed.
- Will I see you tomorrow at the fundraising event?
- Yes. I will gladly paint you with the children. - I laughed to myself.
- I can't wait.
- I will take you at your word.
- Then...sleep well. - Chris said, but I could see you hesitate. - Brooklyn..! - however, before he could say anything, I pressed a kiss on his cheek.
- Good night to you too. - my face stretched into a smile. I was confused but my heart was guiding me now and not my brain.
As I closed the door, I watched the man walking further and further through the window, who was slowly doing a joyous dance of happiness. And seeing that made me want to smile. I felt more and more that I wanted to spend more and more time with him, get to know him better and maybe give him more and more space in my heart.

The next day, there were many children at the event. It was quite a posh event, but the rich could do it to give money for good causes with noble intentions. They collected to help sick children. I took it upon myself to paint the children, because Sarah had such a random schedule. But I honestly don't mind, I love children and if I can put a small smile on their faces, it's worth it. Another girl works next to me, she is extremely charming, cute and clever, she may be younger than me but she is punctual in her work.
I've only seen Christ from afar, but I don't think he's noticed yet. There are quite a few famous people here with their families so it's quite busy now. Some came with their wives/husbands, children, grandparents/uncles. After all, the more people there are, the better. I looked for Chris's gaze, but somehow he kept disappearing at the event.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss him.
The work was quite busy in the morning, but afterwards it calmed down a bit, so we discussed with the girl that we would take turns taking a break. I didn't like crowds, so I looked for a secret little hiding place. However, I was not alone.
- Oh hi! - I said hello to the little girl who was also hiding in my little hiding place. But she didn't want to say hello back. She seemed like a rather withdrawn little girl. - Aren't you afraid here alone?
But he just shook her head saying "no".  - Can I sit here next to you? - I asked her and she indicated "yes". - Hi, I'm Brooklyn. - I extended my hand to her.  She hesitated at first but took my hand and introduced herself.
- I'm Stella.
- Hi Stella! You have a really nice name.  - I told her with a smile, I hoped she would loosen up a little.
- Thank you...yours is beautiful too.
- You are kind, thank you. - I smiled at her. - Who are you playing hide and seek against?
- They teased me outside..!
- And you left yourself? - I asked her and she just nodded "yes". - Don't leave yourself again! You are a brave little girl.
- I told my mom, but they were busy.
- How old are you Stella?
- 6 years old.
- Wow Stella! Then you are a big girl! Other times, you tell them not to hurt you, because it's ugly!
- And if they don't let you? - the girl looked at me with her small eyes.
- Then tell me and I'll take care of it. - I smiled at her.
Upon hearing this, I saw that her face broke into a smile. She looks like me.
I was like that when I was little. It was hard for me to make friends, I didn't have many friends, and if they teased me, I ran crying to a hiding place so they wouldn't see me.
- Stella!
- Yes? - she looked at me.
- Will we be friends? - I asked her.
I knew very well that this question, this one question, could change people's lives. After all, this is when you get a person by your side who you can count on, who helps and stands by you.
- Yes! - she said enthusiastically as if she had been replaced.
- Great! Then let's seal it. Give me your little finger. - I extended my little finger to her, with which we sealed our alliance.
- What do you say if we go out and paint you? I'm a little picky about it.
- All right. - the little girl jumped up from her seat, to which I also jumped up.
- Come on. - I extended my hand towards her when she took it. So we walked hand in hand back to the main venue of the event.
- What can you paint? - she asked as we walked outside.
- Anything. Whatever you want.
- I love Captain America. - she told me enthusiastically.
- Not just you. - I told him, smiling. - Then I'll come up with something about him, okay? - I asked her as I saw the smile on her face more and more. It opened to me. It wasn't the little girl sitting in the corner that I first saw, but Stella, who is a fairy girl. I started to paint her face, it was a bit cheesy when I painted it, because she kept laughing. I showed her the little Captain America face paint I made for her in the mirror, of course I changed it a little, because she's only a little girl. But Stella would make a great little Captain America. However, in the next moment she screamed and my heart almost stopped.
- Uncle Chris! Look what Brooklyn did to me! - she jumped off the chair into his arms and I froze. Uncle? What? Is she Chris's niece? Not possible! That can not be possible!
- How beautiful my princess turned out! Just not? Is this a Captain America theme?
- Yes! - enthused the little girl. I understand now. She loves Captain America because of his uncle.
- Brooklyn paints something for you too.
Come. - got off Chris's arms as ahe pulled the man towards me.
- Hi Brooklyn. - he greeted me with a smile. Oh my god, he's sweet.
- Hi Chris. - I smiled at him.
- It seems I really can't get away with painting. - he laughed to himself.
- I said I would take you at your word. Although in the end it was my girlfriend, not me. - I smiled at Stella.
- Girlfriend? Oh, Stella. Brooklyn was a great choice. - he said to the little girl as he took a seat in the chair.
- Brooklyn! Brooklyn! - Stella jumped next to me.
- Say. - I crouched next to her.
- Will you do something for Uncle Chris too?
- What do you want me to draw on it? - I asked her.
- A star on his shoulder.
- A star? Why a star? - Chris asked.
- Because you are the biggest star. - the little girl raised her hands to the sky as she excitedly moved around us.
- All right, be a star. - Chris agreed and pulled up the sleeves of his shirt. God, what an arm this guy has! What a sweet hug you could give with these. I started to draw the pattern on his shoulder but I couldn't help but notice the way he was looking at me. I felt my face turn red.
- Do not look! I can not concentrate. - I said him, and at that moment our eyes met. I lost it.
- Stella! Come here. - Chris pointed to his feet for the little girl to sit up there. Then he whispered something in her ear. I just smiled, they were so cute together. - Brooklyn! Uncle Chris told me to get you to give him a kiss on the cheek.
- What? - I froze.
- Give Uncle Chris a kiss. - said the little girl enthusiastically. I don't think he had any idea that I was already embarrassed around him and now he's asking me to kiss him? But Chris kept his face towards me. Giving my waist, I pressed a small kiss on his cheek.
- This is it! - Chris was happy, which made me smile. - Stella, help me another time, okay? I like Brooklyn and I have to get him to love me too.
- Uncle Chris, do you love Brooklyn?
Chris didn't answer, that is, not out loud, but whispered the answer in the girl's ear again. But I wondered what he answered because the little girl started giggling loudly. Butterflies fluttered in my stomach.
