Chris POV:
Since my work is not in another country or city, I like to spend more time with my friends. So we met again in the famous small restaurant. As we ate and drank there, I saw the girl, who is constantly filling her with my thoughts. However, she did not come alone. A man was with her. She was as enchanting a beauty now as when I first laid eyes on her. Our eyes met again like on that unforgettable evening. I was nervous and why? My mind was constantly clicking that Brooklyn and her friend were sitting here across from me and that I would like to go over there right now, take her hand and pull her with me. But I can't do that. Why? Because that wouldn't be me. If she's happy, I can't be the one to take that happiness away from her. My friends immediately noticed that something was wrong with me because they immediately started asking questions.
- Hey Chris, what's up? - Bruce asked.
- Nothing special. - I tried to disguise my disappointment.
- You can see that something is wrong with you. Just not a woman? - Lewis drew his eyebrows.
- It could be a woman. - I gave up. They know me too well.
- Isn't it Sarah? - Bruce asked me curiously.
- What? No! Sarah, just a friend. - I objected immediately.
- Then? Do we know? - Bruce asked.
- Do you remember when we had lunch at the same place a week ago? - I asked.
- Yes. - they answered simultaneously.
- Do you remember the girl I told you about then?
- The one who turned out to be working in the studio? - Lewis asked.
- Yes. That girl.
- What's up with? - Lewis asked.
- I think I liked you..! I know, I know, now you're going to say, but Chris, it's early, you don't even know her...but she's completely enchanted.
- We see that. And there's nothing wrong with that. Have you told him how you feel? Did you ask me out? - Bruce asked.
- No way. I think...she has a boyfriend. Why the hell did I have to like a girl with whom I have no chance? - I hit the table.
- That would make it worth a try, wouldn't it? - Lewis asked as he spooned from the food in front of him.
- And if he doesn't feel that way? - There's nothing wrong with that either, but at least you tried. - Bruce reassured with his words.
- Since when is our famous friend Chris Evans such a fearful little child? - Lewis joked.
- Ever since I saw her... - I answered.
- A special girl? - Bruce asked the next question.
- I have never seen or known anyone like her.
- Then go all in. - Bruce patted my shoulder.
Their words went well, but I got another kick in the stomach when I saw the man's hands on Brooklyn's waist. I wish Brooklyn was walking by my side. The guys and I went home not long after. Dodger was asleep, he didn't even care that I got home. I felt that I needed a warm shower to clear my thoughts. Then, after the warm shower, I quickly fell asleep. The next morning, as I went to work, I decided it was now or never! As I entered the make-up room, I saw this angelic creation. Luckily, Sarah wasn't working today, so I was alone with Brooklyn. As she did my makeup, she didn't say anything, only sometimes our eyes met. Courage Chris! Courage!
- Last night...was he your boyfriend? - I asked as I felt the lump in my throat.
- No...first date. - she answered and it was as if the stone had fallen from my shoulder.
- Did you enjoy it? - I asked, hoping to get the answer I want to hear again.
- It wasn't bad. - she answered. What does that mean? Did you still enjoy the date then?
- Are you going out with him again? - I asked scared.
- Mark is a great person, a doctor who saves people's lives every day and..!
I didn't want to listen anymore, yes, I think the man is perfect for her, who could surely make her happy. But if I give up here and now, I may forever regret not doing what I've been preparing for since the evening.
- Give me a chance. - I told her as I looked into the mirror and saw her wonderful iris blue eyes.
- What?
- Give me a chance.
- For what? - she asked, it seemed that I was confused.
- Just a date. If...if you say afterwards that you don't enjoy it and don't feel anything, I'll accept it. - I told her, hoping that I wouldn't do something crazy stupid and lose her because of it.
- Chris, what are you talking about?
- Shit, it shouldn't happen like this... - I gripped the side of the chair.
- Chris.
- I think I like you, understand? - I looked in the mirror again, where I lost myself in her eyes again.
- Chris, I... - she stammered. I knew what she was going to say, but I didn't want her to finish.
- No. Please don't say anything. - I got up from the chair, turned towards her, so I got a full view of her wonderful gaze. - Please just give me a chance. A chance for me to try to get that...that maybe you feel the same way. - I continued to answer. - If you say afterwards that you don't feel anything, I'll accept it. And I will continue to stand by you as a friend. But if by chance even if a small part of you will feel that you like me...then give me a chance to be the person who conjures up that sweet smile of yours and the sparkle in your eyes every day. - I can't believe I said that. My God, what does this woman bring out of me?! It's like I'm Shakespeare. - Well, what do you say? Will you come on a date with me? - I started to get more and more nervous.
She looked speechless for a while. Am I going to lose her now maybe forever? Maybe I should have kept it all to myself?
- When should I be ready? - she asked with a smile, and I sighed upon hearing the question. I can not believe! I couldn't control my feelings, the smile spread across my face.
- For seven nights? - I asked excitedly, as if I were a teenager again and had asked a girl out on my first date.
- I'll wait for you. - she smiled, which made my heart beat faster and faster. I just have to hope that she likes me as much as I like her!
