⚠️Warning! SH!⚠️
Your POV
You ran as fast as you could, holding the end of your skirt in your hands. You should have never went to that ball. What were you thinking?!
You slammed the front door behind you, making sure to lock it before kicking off your heels and running up to your room.
Once there, you took the bracelet off, laying it gently on your dresser before rolling up your left sleeve. You didn't even bother looking at the other scars before grabbing out the pocket knife your father gave you and slowly cutting the blade across your skin.
You kept going until your breath evened, and you set the bloodied knife down, staring at your arm. You sighed in disappointment before grabbing the first aid kit and a fresh pair of clothes before walking into your bathroom.
You cleaned the cuts as best you could before wrapping the bandages around and stripping off the dress into a baggy t-shirt and sweatpants your parents had bought you on one of their trips.
:SH OVER!:
You walked back into your room before flopping down onto your bed. You knew you had a lot of writing to do, but you couldn't bring yourself to get back up and do it. Instead, you rolled over onto your side, looking at the picture of your parents on the nightstand.
They had died due to a war happening on their way home from France, and you felt bad about how you ended up.
You sighed and sat up. No point in thinking about that. It's been four years, they wouldn't want you to keep grieving like this.
A sudden chill ran down your spine. You crossed your arms over your chest and looked around wildly, beginning to expect that nothing was actually wrong until you were picked up by... wait... your shadow?!
You were too confused and scared to think about what this could mean as the mysterious shadow carried you away, far from your estate and down a familiar alley. You could only imagine the worst as the door to his shop opened up in front of you and you were dragged in.
Dr. Facilier's POV
After sending out those shadows to search for the froggy prince, he only had one more thing to wait for. And right on time as the door to his shop opened and his shadow friend carried in a shocked and terrified-looking girl.
He walked up to her as his friend set her down, a smirk on his face. "Well well Doll, looks like you're avoidance of my shop did you no good after all.~"
Your POV (Again)
You looked over at him, scared. And, hoping that he didn't notice the bandages on your left arm, you quickly crossed them behind your back.
"What do you want with me?" You asked him, walking back until you bumped into his shadow. You took a second to glance at it before returning your petrified gaze back to the witch doctor himself.
"Listen here Doll, I've found you quite interesting ever since I laid eyes on you," he purred, walking up to you. You stared up into his eyes, making sure to keep your arms behind your back. That's when he finally noticed, and his smirk turned to a questionable frown.
"What are you hiding Doll?" He asked. You tightened your grip on your left arm and glanced away.
"I-I don't know what you're talking about," you stammered. He grabbed your chin, forcing you to look up at him.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about Doll. Now, what are you hiding?" And in that moment, you had no choice but to oblige. He'd find out either way anyways, since his shadow would've followed orders and shown it to him.
You hesitated for a moment before sighing. You loosened your grip on your left arm and let it hang by your side, not daring to look at the witch doctor.
"What happened Doll?" He asked curiously, holding your arm gently in his grip.
Out of instinct you jerked your arm out of his grip and backed away a couple more steps now that his shadow was no longer behind you. He walked up to you, backing you up against the now-locked door to his shop faster than you could say "Big Daddy."
Dr. Facilier's POV (Again)
It was clear from the way she looked down in defeat it was not something she wanted to answer. He had a guess, from how desperately she was trying to hide the bandaids from him, but he didn't want to make any assumptions right away.
As a split decision he pulled some sleep powder out of his pocket and blew it over her. Almost instantly her eyes began to close, and she fell.
He caught the sleeping girl in his arms before she hit the floor, and while thinking about what to do next, he carried her to his room and set her gently down on the bed to let her rest before walking off.
