Your POV

You normally hated skirts and dresses, but since it was Lottie's masquerade ball, you decided to dress up for once. You wore a long-sleeved dress with a slit (look at picture above and imagine it in your favorite colour,) and wore some f/c two-inch heels to go along with it.

You normally wouldn't wear something like this, but hey, might as well enjoy yourself, right? And as a final touch, you slipped on a clear-quartz bracelet before heading out.

???'s POV

Now that the Prince and his assistant were taken care of, he could focus on his original plan. He was glad to have bumped into her earlier, but maybe he could finally get the chance to have an actual conversation with her tonight.

He chuckled to himself quietly, slipping into a red pirate costume before making his way to the LaBouff estate.

Your POV (Again)

Great. You've been here for a minute and you already feel like leaving. Guess this is why you would always stay home to work...

You sighed, walking up to Tiana's table. She noticed your gloomy face and handed you a free Beignet.

"What's wrong Y/n?" She asked, a worried look on her face.

"Oh Tia, you know how I get near large crowds," you replied with a small smile. "But I'll be fine. Thanks for the Beignet though," you hummed.

"Of course! Whatever you need," Tiana responded. You smiled and took a bite out of the dessert, relishing its flavor.

And as soon as you finished up, Charlotte came running over.

"Give me those napkins!" She exclaimed, grabbing the pile of napkins close to her.

"Whatever for?" Tiana asked.

"I swear Tia, I'm sweating like a sinner in church!" Lottie responded, patting under her arms before shoving the napkins down her bra. You raised a brow.

"What's wrong Lottie? Did something happen?" You asked her.

"Oh Y/n, Prince Naveen hasn't arrived!" Lottie whined, starting to sob a bit.

"Lottie, there's still some stragglers," Tiana murmured, trying to soothe the sad blonde. But unfortunately, it didn't work.

"Oh, I never get what I wish for!" She cried, turning and running up the stairs. Tiana went to follow her, catching the tiara that Lottie had thrown.

You watched them, feeling slightly bitter. How come you had to worry about so much more? Why did the blonde who got everything she asked for get the easy life?

Then you immediately regretted thinking like that. You crossed your arms over your chest and hurried over to a table. Without thinking you ordered yourself some red wine before staring down at the table in shame.

"Excuse me Doll, do you mind if I sit here?" A familiar silky voice asked, interrupting your intrusive thoughts.

"I don't mind," you murmured without looking up, and to your surprise, he had heard. He took the seat across from you, but seemed hesitant to start conversation.

"Who are you?" You asked suddenly, surprising the man across from you. "You're the same guy I bumped into on accident earlier," you took a risk and looked up at him. He had set down a masquerade mask, and underneath you could see he had a thin-black mustache and violet-coloured eyes.

After a moment of the two of you analysing each other he smiled. "Well, Doll, if you really want to know." You hesitated for a moment before nodding, and he reached out into his pocket before pulling out a small, purple card and handing it to you. You eyed him suspiciously before looking down at the card, eyes widening at what it said.

"Y-you... you're the Shadow Man," you stammered, standing up from your chair and backing up a couple of steps. He got up from his own chair and walked towards you.

"Exactly Doll. The same one you've been avoiding ever since you turned twenty," he smirked. And before he could come any closer, someone announced, "Prince, Naveen!" The Shadow Man, or Dr. Facilier, glanced over, giving you just enough time to turn and run away, brushing past the Prince and darting down the steps back towards your own estate.

Dr. Facilier's POV (Again)

Once again he watched her leave. He felt as though this was his life now, just watching this poor-girl escape from his grasp. But why? Why did he care about this girl so much? He needed to pay off his debt, not worry about some author!

But there was something different about her, and he could feel it. He watched the whole frog fiasco, feeling quite irritated as he turned to his shadow friend.

"Get the girl," he ordered. "I'll deal with our little frog predicament." The Shadow nodded in response, before dashing off towards the L/n estate, leaving Dr. Facilier to head back to his Friends on the Other Side.

(A/N: Okay, I just want to make it clear. In this book, you, the reader, Naveen, Tiana and Charlotte are all 22. Dr. Facilier will be 32. I know that's not his normal age, since I believe he's actually in his thirties or forties in the movie, but it works for this.
Also, Dr. Facilier is 6'2 and in this book you will be 5'5. So yeah, hope that cleared some things up. Hope you enjoy, bye!)
