Its been 5 months since Wyatt and i broke up. We havent talked. Once. no happy halloween. No merry christmas. No happy new year. No happy easter. Nothing. No holidays. Summer is almost here and he's back together with rachel and im sitting everyday with Ava in the drama room at lunch because i have no where to go. Ava even got me to try out for the school play since my therapy sessions have gone online. I ened up getting a role. Only in a few scenes but its better then nothing.
"Action"
Our director says. Shes so cool but when you get on her nerves its scary. Shes always telling me to join the elective next year and im actually considering it.
"Oh sweet penelope why cant you love me. Im handsome and dashing"
My opposite says.
"Dont those mean the same thing?"
My character is this karen smith Regina gorge type character.
"Does it? Oh well fair lady i will make you fall in love with me!"
I give my co-actor a look
"Uhh how about no"
I walk off stage with my chest out and looking like a stuck up princess. Our play was made by a student and its really good. Its about a lyre player who gets rejected by the princess of his dreams so he seeks out places to find himself and finds him beautiful love interest. But the twist is the princess gets jealous because she relised she loved him back but it was to late. I was playing the princess. Ava was the love interest. And some drama club celebrity was playing the lyre player.
"Lets go to Act 2 scene 8 please"
The director says looking at her skript and pointing her pencil at us. It was Ava's the scene. The one she was the most excited to do. She goes on stage, no skript. She was off book by the first week.
"Oh Lyre player. I only wish you knew how much i adored you. How much i secretly loved you. I am content with watching you from afar but my heart aches when you play your sad heartbroken tunes"
Ava was amazing. She has Juliard scouts coming to see this play. Along with a few acting and musical theater collages but freaking Juliard. While Avas monolage was still going the director notioned me with her pencil to come to her so i do as im told.
"Hey, im not going to do any more scenes with you today so your free to go home love."
I nod at my director. She was so kind. Only thinking of others and what they can benefit from. I get my backpack from one of the house seats and signal heart hands at Ava to tell her im leaving but i wish her luck. I go to my phone to text my mom to pick me up.
Mom: sorry Honney im still at work. Text Jered!
Jered is doing lighting stuff for the play and then hes doing backdrops so thats a no.
Becca: Hey Seb can you pick me up from school?
Seb: Sorry at a Lacross game. Ians not doing anything text him.
How am i that dumb. Ian. the guy who had nothing going on other then volentering at the Korean bingo hall every saturday with his grandma.
Becca: Hey Ian. Can you pick me up? Got out of practice early.
Three dots apper. Then disappear. Then re-apper.
Ian: Be there in 3.
His house was 5 minutes from school. But he got to the school in 3. As promised. Ian had a run down ford. It was aesthetic in a way but really old. Like old enough to were we had to roll down the windows. He loved it though.
